BeerSmith Mobile Home Brewing

I downloaded this to my iPad about 6 months ago, and it’s all I use. I can create recipes without any problem and most of the app is great. Cons: I still don’t like the timer function, and I can’t click and drag ingredients around within the recipe. But does it set me up to make great beer? Yep! Cheers

Don’t listen to the naysayers. This is a great standalone app. I used iBrewMaster for years and Apple took it off the App Store with no warning. After I updated my phone I could no longer use it. I looked for a new app and I know a lot of people use the full software version of Beersmith and love it. I was hesitant to download this app due to the 2.9 star rating. That is bunk. It’s not all that useful for me since you can’t import BeerSmith recipes with this BeerSmith mobile app. Seems strange that the developer decided to exclude support for their own file types out of the box.

Historically this is been a fantastic application. I have no problem with prior versions of BeerSmith , BeerSmith mobile, or Even BeerSmith lite. However, recently there appears to be a problem with the Brewing timer in any of the mobile apps. The reason I wanted this app was to use it to calculate many of the various things that are needed for during the brewing process. Anyways, lately it seems this crashes every time one of the tools is opened… ie when opening the back-sweetening too, and trying to select a new sugar from the list. Honestly this basically makes the app useless which is a bummer because it is a paid app etc.
