User Reviews and Ratings

★★☆☆☆ Inferior app to WiiM
I wanted to compare the WiiM to Bluesound. I sprung for the Node ICON which is their flagship device. The hardware is fine, the app is terrible. Only supports FAT32, but many users will have a Mac. Mac formats by default in exFAT with a GUID partition instead of MBR. Why wouldn’t Bluesound account for this in 2025? Linux and Mac support should be equivalent or better than Windows. I can’t find the place to even enable Dirac if I wanted to within the iOS app. They say all you need is iOS but I’m
★★★★★ Great job with iOS app 4.12.0
I read a lot of negative comments regarding this update. Admittedly I was pretty nervous but took the plunge and I just updated and happily everything works perfectly including Qobuz Connect which was a feature I really wanted as BluOS didn’t offer the same options that the Qobuz app did. Good job Bluesound!
★★☆☆☆ Simple interface but glitchy
The interface is simple and intuitive to use. There are frequent glitches however, typically after Bluesound pushes updates. I often have trouble detecting inputs or players, and need to perform a reset.
★★☆☆☆ Doesnt work since update
Ever since the most recent update it doesn’t work anymore. I have an iPad I can still control my player from, but from my phone it doesn’t connect to the Node anymore. Frustrating. Update a few months later: every time the app has an update it fails to work for a day or two. If it wasn’t for a second device I could not control my player. And again. An update and nothing works. It’s annoying!
★★☆☆☆ Response is painfully slow.
The BlueSound Node app is painfully slow at responding to fundamental commands such as skipping to the next song. My $99 WiiM streamer’s application outperforms the BlueSound node in every way. My Node is located closely to my WiFi router. Embarrassing that BlueSound cannot get this right when their competitors are not having these kinds of problems.
