★★★★☆great app, great support, 80s all over again
This is such a great app, true to the core of this 80s monster of a drum machine. spectacular recreation, when you hear the sounds you’re transported to the era and you recognize almost immediately what song used that sound. looking forward to the growth of this app..
★★★★☆Pretty good but needs work
Worth the price just for the samples and basic functionality. Sequencing functions are a nightmare. Grid style programming of patterns a la 808/909 will help a lot at least. As would the ability to load both Linn Drum samples as we'll as LM-1.
★★★☆☆Good, but.......
Drum sounds and workflow are pretty much like the original drum machine. With that in mind, it's a very strange thing that the closed hi hat doesn't
choke the open hi hat. The people that made the very early drum machines knew that a hi hat can't be open and closed at the same time. This oversight is pretty ridiculous. The fact that there's the same problem with your virtual 808 is even more ridiculous. You guys really have to fix that. It's incredible that you would go through all the trouble
★★★☆☆Needs work. Some sounds are incorrect
Not a bad effort. However, some of the sounds are incorrect, most notably the high and low Toms, clave and the snares. While appluad the effort, more work needs to be done. There should be a 4 beat mode, since most songs were written that way. I tried to program one of Prince's songs (Computer Blue), but couldn't due to the 2 beat limit. More work needs to be done to make this work like the original LM-1 Drum Computer.
★★★★★Old and good for the money
No idea how close the emulation is to original hardware. I don’t think a beat sequencer is necessary. I was looking for a cheap software introduction to classic drum machines and this fit the bill perfectly.
