iNaturalist

I’ve been using iNat for 8+ years and in the last few updates it has become so slow it’s impossible to use in real time. Can’t recommend this to anyone until it’s fixed. I tried logging in and out of my account. Did not help.

The new platform, although it offers much enhanced features and usability options, fails miserably due to slower load times and frequent lag to the point of freezing. I am severely disappointed and bewildered as to how this changed so much from inat classic. I am a frequent user but fail to see this as an improvement from the previous version. Needs more work before publication.

I got this newer version of iNat so I could upload multiple observations at a time, something the classic app doesn’t have. This new UI was really clunky and confusing to pick up. I don’t understand why they didn’t just use the same/similar interface as the classic. Or just add the feature of adding multiple observations as an option for the classic. This new version is unbearably slow and constantly freezes. The old version is fast and I had none of these problems. I love iNat and the commun

Love this app, but for the last few updates, I can’t get past the “tap and hold to view options” note that pops up when I first open the app. No matter how I press and hold, nothing happens and the screen is frozen.

Overall a very good and useful app, it can be a little buggy sometimes though.It won’t always show an accurate representation of where every animal is spread across a certain area in detail, because (in this app) groups of Animas tend to cluster more to where people are and frequent according to the app, when in reality it would be more spread out or be where people frequent less. Still great tool and highly recommend to any new or aspiring naturalist!
