I have the original Mavic Mini and the iPhone SE (1st gen!). The DJI app works and has nice features like cached videos and movie making, but I am put off by privacy-invasive data collection and the limited, hit-or-miss pre-programmed drone shots. Maven has ZERO data collection, hooray! After I watched a handful of tutorials and took a few practice flights, my humble Mavic Mini 1 can now do some amazing automated shots with the flight planning and tracking features. I did a lot of comparisons while searching for a good third-party app for the Mini 2. This app unlocked a whole new set of features that I never could have dreamed of with the stock DJI app. I started with waypoint mapping for photography then moved onto some of the advanced following features. Finally, I popped my phone into a cheapo “VR headset” holder and behold: FPV on a Mini 2. And not just some poor excuse for FPV. Like actually decent FPV functions and performance. I don’t usually buy app

Maven is the primary reason that I keep my Mavic 2 drones. The ability to plan waypoint missions and preview them in google earth; PRICELESS. I just wish that DJI would release SDK for Air 3s for those longer missions that need uploaded missions.
