★★☆☆☆promises more than delivers
I Connected my iPad Pro to a bose boombox. I had to lower the level to 30% volume and walk 10 feet away to prevent any reverb. The voice projection was low. Plus, I looked awkward talking into the iPad. There's also a half second delay which added to the awkwardness.
Therefore, in a 40 x 40' room, your best bet is to simply to speak A little louder than normal, and everyone will hear you.

I don’t understand how to use this

I tried many apps but this one gives the best clarity in sound. No echoes no voice breaking. It has both bluetooth and airplay option. Overall best app in it’s category.
★★☆☆☆Does not work with lavalier mic
Doesn’t work with a lav-mic attached to your phone. No way to use this without talking directly into your phone. No good for use with a PA system or for presentation purposes. Ads are maddening. Makes it difficult to even test the app. I guess the theory is to bombard you with them to get you to pay for the upgrade. No option to opt-out of recording. All I am trying to do is voice-relay. I don’t need to take up memory on my phone or icloud. Should be an option that can be toggled.
