There is a tutorial mode to teach you the basics of the game -- put down connection squares that touch the number shown on the paper. Only n squares can surround the number. So complex layouts can be tricky and fun.
Easy to come in and start playing and come back later for more.

Fells like an active engagement puzzle rather than some game designed to make you buy crap to actually make progress. IMHO if you dislike this game because of its “unclear” rules then you must hate a challenge. I feel like it teaches how to learn how to play rather than outright teaching how to play, which builds intuition you’ll need the farther the game progresses!
