II usually knit my sweaters and socks without a pattern with the help of the book, “Knitting 101” for general size and measurent info. My sweaters are usually raglans or circular yoke so once you understand the formula with these types of sweaters (and that goes for socks, too) I find a pattern is not necessary unless the pattern I am knitting has a color work chart I want to use. I use this app as a jumping off point when I need to know how much yarn I will need. Very helpful indeed. Many thank
