The app stopped loading the home page just before Christmas. It appears the Vatican redesigned the web site to be mobile friendly and I'm guessing they no longer need the app. The support link on the App Store takes you to the new site. It looks great

After forty years away, This little app brought me back to the Catholic Church. Each morning, I arose early and the first thing I did was open this app and read what the His Holiness had been doing with joy. I used this as my devotional. Now there is a blank screen. I do not know why, but I only hope that the lack of updates is not caused by the twisted use of social media by a few misguided others.

The home screen no longer fills in with the Vatican news. It’s just blank. I’m using the website now.

I loved reading the Pope’s words filtered only through a translator. His words were unfailingly loving, relevant, and challengingly. Now there is only a blank screen. Does it need funding?

I can’t find any source to go easily to read the Pope’s actually homilies and addresses. The old Pope App had the tab “Words of the Pope”, which was the only thing I used it for. There are a million sources if I wanted to read Pope Francis reported on or summarized. (Which he really doesn’t need anyways.) What doesn’t exist is one where I can go directly to what he said, and if it’s not the Vatican app, then where?
