It’s not free, and there’s lots of map packs- but this is the original tower defense on iPhone. It’s fun, easy to pick up and doesn’t kill your battery. I’ve played this so many times over so many years, it’s just a good recommendation.
If you hate the in-app purchases, get the HD version for tablet- comes w everything.

I've been playing this game for at least 11 years. It got me through many extremely painful multi month long hospital stays, and hundreds of boring meetings. I've played this game across high school, college, and two jobs and it keeps giving. I still haven't mastered every level.
It is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of tower defense games and I am beyond grateful that it still works on my iPhone 12.
If this game got DLC in 2021 I'd buy it.
TM2 is good as well, but I just can't let this one g
