Get this app!

Stop reading reviews and get this app!! This is a huge resource, and straight from Mamady Keita himself! Full of rhythms, from beginner to advanced, including complete cultural and historical information for each one! You can isolate individual parts, even dunun bell patterns, plus hear how everything comes in off the signal. Put your headphones on, adjust the tempo, and you've got your own infinitely adjustable ensemble to play along with! Practice any part you want or solo on top of it a

Djembe life

This is they absolute best djembe and dunun instruction app. The layout and ease of operation the best I've seen and used!!! Not only is it the best for technique and tempo control but also it has great info about ethnic groups and regions in which each rhythm comes from!!!!! Cheers!

Best Djembe ap ever!

I can not say how happy I am to have learned about this ap from another student in my drumming classes. This makes it so much easier to learn, practice and retain the different rhythms. The free version is a great place to start but I wanted to work on Yankadi and was happy to pay nominal upgrade charge to help support the artists that have put countless hours into this project so that we can all share and learn together!

Extremely helpful app

I used this app in addition to my djembe class to remind me about the rhythms. Even better, its various features—such as the ability to slow the tempo down, choose which parts I want to listen to, or make some parts more quiet than others—helped me practice between classes. It made learning way more fun.

Love this drumming app

This is a gorgeous app that is well-organized and full of music to practice with and to learn more about the rich history and traditions of African drumming. You can listen to the entire ensemble or isolate the drum rhythms(s) you are interested in learning. Additionally, you can adjust the beats per minute to slow it down / speed it up as you learn. The volume for each drum is also individually adjustable. This app is very well thought out and designed. Worth a look!

Great tool!

Great tool for Djembe students! App interface is well organized and easy to follow. Thanks!

Best practice app.

An amazing app! There's nothing else like it and so many traditional rhythms to choose from.

Allow family sharing of in app purchases please

My only complaint is not being able to share my in app purchases with my kid. If you would allow that, I’d rate this app 5 stars.

Export audio to other apps.

I wish this app was able to export its audio to various daws (ie cubasis or auria) via AudioShare, AudioCopy, or Inter-App Audio.

Adore this app

So intuitive. Immediately started navigating, isolating parts, adjusting volumes, speeding up, slowing down and playing along. I’m fairly new to African drumming and this app is invaluable.

Truly the Best!

This app is by far the best I’ve seen, well organized and packed with content. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Pura Vida

Hands down the best djembe app!

I’ve been a professional percussionist, drum maker, and educator for almost 20 years, and this is far and away the best and most authentic and easy to use djembe education tool out there. The only app I’ve seen with so many legitimate and well researched West African rhythms, straight from the hands and heart of Mamady Kieta! Bravo in every way!

Great for newbies

I have no previous education in music and am learning djembe at age 56, so it’s not easy! This app allows me to get hear the different rhythms while I practice my part, or just listen to one rhythm to help me get it right.

Ensemble in your pocket!

The great Grand Master Djembeföla Mamady Keita strongly endorsed this approach! It’s like having a West African djembe ensemble in your pocket! It was designed to make learning djembe fun and thorough. All parts, oral history, maps are included, as are a metronome feature and lots of other great stuff!
