App is slow, crashes, and doesn’t interface well with the user. Can’t believe this is what we need to use to get a bike in Barcelona. Just sad and mediocre.

If you are in the city of Barcelona and trying to rent the bikes, they are red with the label ‘bicing’, this of the app you need to use them. Unfortunately this runs by a membership program- One option is €50/yr and then some rates per use, Another option is €35 initiation fee, and then pay per ride. We were not in the city long enough to be able to get to use them given the high base price for just signing up.

The app is absolutely terrible: unreliable and buggy. Unfortunately there is no alternative and everyone have to use this. Wish the city of Barcelona would be more open to opening its services to third parties allowing for competition and better quality of services.

Electric car charging points are often not working or are working badly. 30 minute time limit for charging is not useful, and there doesn’t seem to be any enforcement for people who ignore the time limit. Worst of all if someone is plugged into the slow charging port with their own cable, the fast charger cannot be used. Poor implementation and badly thought out.

It’s an excellent app for taking care of connecting all of the personal transportation options in Barcelona but honestly it’s all useless if the app constantly crashes or takes 2 minutes to start up just to unlock a Bicing. I preferred when the Bicing app was just fast and had one purpose. Adding all these other features just made the app slow or crash constantly (on an iPhone 12).
