Best DLNA music player for iPhone
Best DLNA music player for the iPhone. Only gripe: Download All does not play albums in the Music area in the right order. I have the order set to Track N, but it plays the downloaded music in alpha order.
UPDATE: connecting to a Bluetooth speaker is very unstable. I use a JBL Extreme and a couple of other smaller speakers. Pausing music causes the DLNA connection to be dropped a few minutes later when continuing playing. This is with ios12 but has existed as a problem since gapless playback was
Great app but…
Since Google is phasing out their older chrome cast stick, I found this app lack of support for Amazon firestick …..? That’s pretty strange consider firestick now have larger market shares than chromecast now…
Great app
Absolutely awesome working app does exactly what its supposed to do
Works great
On both iPhone and iPad
Love It!
Been using this player since it first appeared, haven’t found anything else to compare! If you’re looking for a good media player with lots of connectivity, this is it!
Awesomeness
It’s freaking cool
great for dlna
fairly comprehensive features and intuitive to use. much better than infuse or vlc.
Love the TV app, one request
Could you add the ability to specify a remote DLNA server on the TV app the same way it can be specified in Settings on the iPhone App?
Works well, reasonably priced
I purchased this for Apple TV because I was having issues with VLC app connecting to network shares (on Apple TV but not iPhone). Well worth the $5. This app also supports flv files.
The app indeed plays the next item in the folder if you enable the feature in Settings.
One thing I don't like is that you have to enable Windows File Sharing if using a Mac.
The one feature it is lacking is a "next" button (next item/video), which would be convenient to have along with the existing "skip ahead 30
Nice!
Can play .vob files
Great Video Player, Network&Local
It is a great video player for network shares both Samba and DLNA. I bought it on AppleTV where it works exceptional. It plays all the common video formats. It also does mp3 and images for slight shows. The purchase on AppleTV extends to my iPad where it works as well. There are many customization options. Lastly I like that it is a small one time cost. No account or subscription needed.
Good, but needs refinement.
Volume control using the phone buttons would be nice, more browsing and sorting options, gapless playback.
Literally copy Plexamp GUI.
Play Next item? NOT
Well, retracting my last review. I was mistaken. You can't play the next item in the folder withtout exiting the video that's playing and "finding" the next item. But there is an option to play the next item when the current one finishes.
Finally an app that works!
I have looked for a long time to find a DLNA app that works with my iPhone and Windows computer that didn’t cost a fortune. 8player does it all.
Smb works again
Took a long time, but smb finally works again for video!
10+ Years of use. Tough like a rock!
I’ve been using this since I bought my NAS. The WD NAS capabilities to connect with new tech is fading in the horizon.
This still rocks in a few clicks. No fancy bells and whistles! Just the good ol movies running the way its supposed to work!
FTS
One request
Would be nice & useful to display videos by file name (instead of title), but overall very nice app.
Simple User interface that plays anything from anywhere
Super simple user interface that plays everything and with no 250 object limitations that I see in a lot of media players. And pro is very inexpensive.
DLNA Player That Works!
I thought I had looked everywhere for an app with a good interface to reliably play DLNA streamed music from my NAS on my iPhone.
Works flawlessly! I can even control other DLNA renderers, chromecast, or Bluetooth. Thank you!

Watched one movie then it wouldn’t play another
On Apple TV, I tried everything to get it to play a second movie. Finally uninstalled and reinstalled and it played the movie. Kind of buggy.
