Confused

Precipitation estimates confuse me a bit. When the hourly precipitation says 2” is that based on the highest rate of rainfall for that hour or the daily amount that would be accumulated if that rate continued for the entire day or something else entirely?

This gives more than I can absorb; more thanI need. But on occasion I know there will be times that I want that bit of information, more than I get at other weather apps. Can we get a peek at a 14 day forecast?
