Truly a fun time

Let me start by saying I am not a gamer. I don’t play a whole lot of video games in general and when I do it’s Animal Crossing lol. But this has genuinely been so much fun. Easy to learn, easier to become obsessed with. Really phenomenal world building and the open world concept has been so fun to explore. My only wish is that there was *more* of this game. Kudos to the dev on this one for creating an enjoyable experience for gamers and non gamers alike.

Achievements would be great too!

I love looking at the stats screen in a game to see what I have and haven’t completed. There is a room with the extra hearts which is a great way to incorporate that stat, but I wish there was more. I’m 99% confident I’ve 100% the game but I can’t really know. Also now thag I’ve reached the end I cannot go back to an open world, but it does canonically make sense.

what am i doing

it's fun to randomly discover things by going off the beaten path (seriously though, great game!)

please play this game !!!

oh my god this is one of my very fav games i have played in a while! the gameplay is very simple and easy to master and the story is so cool and wonderful! 100/10

After place review

I love playing after place it gives me the feel of the old Zelda games and I love the simple controls of the game and even throw it's a indie game I think people should give it a chance. And also I can't wait for the sequel or D.L.C.

Afterplace 2!

Please make another one! This game was amazing. It was actually a bonding experience for me and my 8, and 10yr old girls who are very waldorfy but I gave them access to this game and we had so much fun. It was fun exploring and venturing around and sharing tips. I finished it and I’m dying for a second one/i needed more from the old cassettes and the sword and everywhere else!!!!

Incredibly Poignant & Sometimes Jarring

Evan Kice has created something special here. This game has consumed many of my waking thoughts. It makes me feel uneasy in a way $70 AAA games have never done. The world building and writing here are immaculate. I’m not one to review but it must be said that this is truly something special.

Worth the buy

I like the game. Nice little fun dialogue. Good bit to explore.Amazing story

Fun game, with a few frustrations

I’d love to be able to zoom in. My vision is horrible, even with glasses, and I find that the scale is just too small to see the awesomely detailed pixel art. I’d also like a way to move faster, so a “run” mode could be helpful.

I’ve played a lot of games…

and I’ve even played a lot of mobile games, but this is truly one of the best. It takes you places you would never expect. Just buy this game!

Awesome game

I have beaten it 3 times now, trying to get the different endings. Every time I have been impressed. 1 thing though, The reset button is gone so I’m just running around with nothing to do.

so charming

my god i could play this game forever. its perfect

Something very special

This is a special game. And when I say that, I don’t intend to compare it with other phone games. Just in general, this is an excellent, very special game. It’s well worth the asking price. Given how much I enjoyed it, I would have paid more. If you’re considering it, I encourage you to take the plunge.

Nintendo-level quality game

Could easily see this selling for $60 on the Switch. Fantastic game. It’s so good that I had to give it 5 stars, and I’ve never reviewed an app on the App Store before. Reminds me of Legend of Zelda with the puzzles and combat, Earthbound with the funky characters, and Stardew Valley with the chill vibes. 11/10, incredible game.

Amazing enough to get me to write a review

Honestly, I don’t normally write reviews; but this game was such a standout “hidden gem” that I can’t believe it’s not getting more attention. Thoroughly recommend.

Design marvel

I was incredibly impressed by the design of Afterplace. Art, music, level design, progression, story…it’s all a cut above, nuanced, sophisticated, and continually surprising. A truly incredible effort, much less from only one person. I’d strongly recommend Afterplace to anyone who appreciates games as art.

Literally Unplayable

Seems pretty good so far, however there is a mouse who claims to have met me on a bridge, when in fact I did not see any bridges nor meet any mice before entering his residence. Also, I was able to ask him about a big sword, which I could not have possibly known about due to seeing no swords of notable size before talking to him. 0/10 no logical continuity, literally unplayable.

Loved it!

Played this game the second TouchArcade recommended it and I loved it. So much reminded me of reading “every heart a doorway”. This game has a wonderful, insightful heart, is beautiful, and is so rewarding to play.

Hidden Gem

So many things I love about this game. There’s very little direction, and the ‘figure it out yourself’ approach really makes it feel like your own unique adventure. Every time I thought I had seen it all I would find something surprising and new to explore. As someone who tends to quit games when they get too challenging, I was so glad to see an invisible mode as a toggle-able option. Story, characters, gameplay, all great and well executed. 10/10 game. Cheers

Stellar

Loved, loved this game. Great writing, humor, pacing, characters, visuals. Perfect game for a little Zelda-esq escapism. Only thing I wanted was MORE. Please make more games like this

Great retro RPG

Massive link to the past vibes with undertale humor. Music is great, peaceful while exploring, intense during boss fights. Difficulty isn’t too hard, but challenging enough to be satisfying. The story mystery is slowly revealed as you’re exploring this big Alice in wonderland forest. I absolutely adored this game.

My favorite game till now

I looooove the little fox Joxxi! He/She is soooo cute
