Ambient Weather Network App Reviews

I am reallly enjoying my Ambient Weather station and the info provided on the app dashboard. Lots of detail available which is nice to see. However, the fact that you cannot customize or rearrange the tiles is frustrating. I somehow managed to remove the temperature tile and once I added it back it’s no longer at the top which is where I would like it to be.

App is fine for what it is but is very buggy. Often doesnt load, struggles to display data

So this app will not let me login to any account on my iPhone. I’ve created an account and then when I went back in it wouldn’t sign in to it so I created another account and same thing and again it is happening. I got someone else to try it and they got great results with android but the same bad results with their iPhone. Ok fine then, it worked after I deleted and redownloaded the app. Hopefully it keeps working.

The app was working great but the latest update crashes when launched on my M1 Mac mini. Ive installed and reinstalled but the I get the same result. Hopefully this will be fixed soon

Why are we in 2025 and still have apps that look like are 1995 version 1 ? Come on AWN, you’re better than this. Aren’t you?

Free gives a lot of features and works great if you want to see local stations. If you have your own station, paid gives you more features, but is not necessary.

I’ve got their weather station & I use this app a lot. I like it, but there are limitations still. The iOS widgets are great, but there’s still no Apple Watch app or complications, which means I still can’t go 100% in on this without using Apple weather or another app for my watch. The rainfall calculations on here (and the weather station) are not great, but temp & wind are spot on.

this app is honestly not bad. the only thing is how there isnt any widgets.

I would give this app 5 stars if it included iOS widgets for the home screen. The “tiles” that are already in the app with translate well to this. I own some other weather sensors and apps from another company and take advantage of the widgets they offer.

I think the weather functions on the app are great. But when looking at today's data in tiles mode, it always irks me to see the moon depicted directly beneath the sun, regardless of it's position in the sky. Surely the developers can program the moon icon to show it's actual longitude.

In future updates, could an in app alert notification have a sound added?

Does this app provide NWS Warnings? So far, the data seems accurate when reading it from my PWS. Would like to see a little UI update on the app:

This app honestly does fine. Thank You for supporting your weather station products! One recommendation is to save the last center point and zoom level on the map view. 99% of the time I want see the handful of stations within 3ish miles of me, and not the hundreds that the default location and zoom level pulls in. As a result, that map view would probably perform much better and be more useful.

I primarily use the app to look at my home station weather and it is very good and stable. My complaint is that when I launch it, the time of the data displayed is often displayed to be hours or days before even though I had previously launched the app minutes before. My preference would be to set the time and data to the current time. It seemed to be this way for a while but at least several months ago it reverted back.

I love the app and recommend it to everyone. The one thing that needs added is to be able to go through the history to see previous rains.

I used to always get a sms text for my alerts. Now you need a subscription. You can have alerts on the app but they don’t work and yes I made sure they were allowed on my phone. I am hoping this is fixed soon.

Someday, some vendor is going to develop a reliable and easy to use internet interface for their weather station. So far, we are not there. I have used AcuRite and Ambient Weather stations and they regularly drop their feed to the online apps or weather reporting web pages. They jam, they stop uploading, they do everything except maintain a reliable connection. The hardware on my Ambient 2902D is nice. It should. There is no reason it needs access to the internet to read the info from a local weather station. When my internet is down but my wifi is up, the app will not load.

I absolutely love my aw weather station. Inexplicably, the app does not have a ‘favorites’ view, or some way to store a list of stations. What a miss.

I love your App but I do have one complaint. Maybe not a complaint but a request. On the rainfall total. It just keeps totaling from the day you installed the instruments. Would there be a way to get a total of Yearly Rainfall? Your can still have the Grand Total but I’d love to also get a Yearly Total. Otherwise I love everything else! If you had the Yearly Total, I’d be giving you a 5 Star rating! Thank you!

I cannot comprehend why whenever I am opening app, - it is not updating data but shows the last time I did it, such aw 8h ago. Who came up with this logic? Why should I scroll it all the way app and then back down?

I like the UI much better than Weather Underground. No widgets? Really? Come on now, do yall use phones? Great app but sound option does not work with notifications.

This app is only halfway done because it does not install on the Apple Watch. You need to create an Apple Watch app too.

This is my fourth Ambient weather station and probably my last. The station has s major flaw in the solar board and hence uses batteries every 20-25 days. Sent an email but no response as my station is out of warranty. For sure Google before you buy. Frustrating
