i use this app so much to teach scouts, friends, and family to tie knots! love learning new ones myself and just browsing - and ‘fact-checking’ other know-it-alls about some knot they claim to know. but really - best part for learning is the animation and that you can step forward or backward at each step at your own pace!! i’m part of a boating club and this app is such a good reference!!! keep up the good work Grog!

I am a knot novice, but it’s been easy for me to apply these knots. The step-by-step illustrations are super clear.

Really great knot guide. Everything’s laid out simple and clear, plus you get background on each knot which makes it even more interesting. Definitely one of my go-to apps being in construction, heavy equipment/rigging and also comes in handy daily when I’m hunting, fishing, camping, and hauling!

This app does exactly what it sets out to do. Well worth the money. No complaints.

Best app/website for learning knots, hands down. Nothing else comes close. Needs social/text links so I can easily tell everyone about it—currently only allows users to “email a friend” which is kinda 2005. Also needs to link to the App Store instead of iTunes for reviews—this should have many THOUSANDS of five star reviews by now!!

I don’t sail as much as I used to, but I come back to this app every couple of months and, with a cocktail, I review all of the ones that I’ve ever used. You never know when they’re gonna’ be helpful! (I think this review has been sitting on my phone for a decade… And I still keep coming back to the app every couple of months. Eventually, I will be able to do a bowline on a bight without referring to it!)

I find this to be a terrific app for learning and reviewing knots I need in disaster recovery and tree climbing. It’s on my phone and always with me. I can show it to others, they learn too!

Simple, intuitive, and extremely useful app. I reference it anytime I am teaching knots or learning new ones. Organized very simply and easy to find new knots (many I had never learned/heard of) for specific activities. The “info” section on each knot is a GREAT resource too and helps narrow down what knots you need or would be better to use for whatever application you need.

Great wealth of knowledge, becoming outdated tho. I see so many useful knots on social media but come here and can find 7 variations of the figure 8- but ok - how about adding some other knots, bends, and expand on the hitches?

Clear and concise; extremely user friendly. Assumes user is new to knots but not stupid. Worth every penny.

I constantly come back to this application whenever I’m looking for a quick refresher on how to tie a knot or to find a new one to learn! It has the easiest and cleanest format for learning! I’m so happy they keep adding new materials and also include knot history and use information.

Easily the best five bucks one can spend online. I got this app during Covid to learn some new stuff and kill some time. It has been way more than some quarantine entertainment. It's a tool just as useful as a dictionary, flashlight, or camera. Get this app.

This is by far the most clear and comprehensive collection of knots available in app form. I’ve been using it for years, and have installed it on every device I’ve owned. If you want to learn knots, you’ve come to the right place.

This is an amazing app with detailed animations and great background information on each knot’s history and uses. It also directly references the great book of Ashley’s knots so you know it’s legitimate!

This app is user friendly and has a nice, simple interface that makes it easy to search for the knot I need. It includes an extensive list of knots with animations that make each easy to understand. This is great for any age (children and adults), and any ability.

If you are into tying knots and decorative rope work, this is the app for you. All the knots a beautifully demonstrated. Take your time and be patient, you will get it. The app is a great place to start your rope work. It makes what appears to be complicated manageable. I love it! Thanks Grog.
