I love classical music so much but I thought of a genius idea You know how Apple Music has a lyric option for there music I was thinking of something similar Instead of nothing you could make a sheet music tracker like the music there playing similar to the Apple Music lyrics but sheet music
So far Apple category is excellent on first two selections on the list! Was on Chicago Symphony junior board but teaching Medill Journalism did not pay with 3 children and 5 grandchildren to help for their future! Thank you!
I like the app, even better the idea. I don’t like how when you add a song to your library it also adds the song to your regular Apple Music account.
I subscribed to Primephonic before Apple bought it, went to Idagio for a while, and finally made my way back here. The fact that Apple Classical is combined with a Music subscription makes it the best value on the market. The major two drawbacks are the lack of a separate app in Carplay - which means that if I ask Siri for a certain concerto I get only the first movement - and the lack of a social component. I hope very much these features are in the works!
It’s a shame!
For operas can you please add the libretti so one can follow along the lyrics in the original language as well as English and perhaps other larger language. This is often included in the booklet of the CDs.
This app is ideal for classical music enthusiasts who want to discover music. The organization is perfect. But it freezes every time I open it now. Started immediately after updating to the latest iOS. Please fix! I love this app. I was using it everyday, discovering tons of great recordings.
Need a way to view just my entire library like Apple Music treats albums or singles or dj mixes… as opposed to how it is, having to navigate by album or recording etc…
Love the app! But why doesn’t come up as an option on my Car Play screen or my Apple TV or my iMac? I know that I can start it on my iPhone and it will play through Car Play or my Home Pod, but I can’t start it while driving, there’s no icon for it… only Apple Music… not Apple Classical Music… what’s with that?
People are so focused on the fact that this is a different app that they don’t even notice the functionality of the app. The app works perfectly fine. The music is wonderful classical deserves it’s own app I feel like there could be a few more updates and you could maybe focus a little bit more on this app but besides that this app is absolutely perfect. Thank you for making it.🎻🎻🎻🎻
I love this app, but I was really disappointed when I figured out that there’s not Apple Music Classical for MacOS. Please, add it to the options for Mac.
At least it knows that a concerto or a symphony isn’t a song, so it will play the next movement at the appropriate time; I’m grateful for that. But, there is no indicator of time, and so there’s no way to see where you are in a movement. No little red dot that moves. Still, it really is better than nothing, and we can hope that they’ll read this, talk to some actual musicians, and then add that little red dot.
When I make a playlist and play it I click on the song and it starts playing a completely different song then the one I clicked on and it does this for the first half hour of the playlists existence and then it starts working normal but I would like for it to work from the start. The last problem is when you scroll down your playlist and play a song it automatically scrolls back to the top for some reason, which is annoying because if it is a long playlist you have to scroll back to the bottom j
Please release an iPad app.
An absolute gem. Incredible opportunity to discover, enjoy and learn about classical music. Perfectly organized categories that make browsing a delight. Fantastic - thank you for this!
While the app is marketed as pure classical it has a lot of amazing soundtracks-AS IT SHOULD!! But there are some amazing scores not in this app. I’d love for it to be rebranded as a symphonic app instead of classical so it can encompass scores from Disney to Destiny and everything it has now! Absolutely love it though!
I cannot believe that Apple did not make this a Universal application, they have started slacking.
Helps you focus on all the real music (like Italian opera, Bach, Glenn Gould and whatnot) while you can cordon all of your guilty pleasures off in the other app. Now if they can make a movies or TV app that just focuses on the good movies (like Hitchcock and and Renoir and Burt Lancaster)—I mean classic movies.
I’m kinda of surprised by this, sine it’s an official Apple app, that there’s no native iPad support. Instead it opens up tiny on your iPad screen since it’s only fitted for iPhone. Hoping that changes in the future since part of the selling point of the iPad Pro line is the built in speakers designed to play music
Exclaimer, not everyone has an iPhone like me. I want to listen on my ipad, but was dissatisfied when I saw the small screen, small text platform, what’s the point? and lack of anything. It is still a good idea and app.
I canceled my current music service and signed up for Apple Music on account of this app. I have seen a lot of suggestions for improvements. Fine. The essential point is that if you like classical music, nothing else that I am aware of is even close.
First off, I love this app! I love classical music so this is a wonderful fit for me. I love all the features and I’m very pleased with how you did this. The only thing is, I would love the shuffle feature added back in please. :) thanks!
Nice interface and great library. But the performance is awful. It’s hard to connect, it takes forever to play a new piece. I use Music too to stream music and while I’d expect it’s the same app, Classical’s performance is so much worse.
An indie app developer wouldn’t even have taken this out of beta. I would list several problems, but Apple clearly has no interest in making this better. If I am wrong, get in touch with me and I will gladly list numerous problems.
