16 Positive User Reviews for Applied Ballistics

Better than before

They’ve fixed a few bugs that make life a lot better. However it’s clear no one developing this is considering usability and testing is very shallow as they keep ignoring user settings for new features.

Great App with Great Support

I shoot long range 22lr. Targets run from 200 to 611 yards. This app really helps to make this possible. Lots of great “how to” videos on YouTube. Every time I have ask a question, I have received a speedy and understandable answer. I have the “Elite” version which is well worth the money. Yes, you do need to put some time in to learn it, but it is well worth it.

No Vortex Scope Profiles

The app has a lot of power, but for reasons I cannot fathom they do not have a single vortex scope profile! I have 4 vortex scopes (all MOA) on 300 WM, 6.5 CR rifles bolt an AR. I have been a long time Kestral user and appreciate having a Kestral app to run on my iPhone and connect to my Kestral

Very satisfied.

For both center fire and rim fire competitions, I rely on this app, which is also linked to a calypso. The app delivers accurate results and is straightforward to use. I am very satisfied with this app and recommend it to anyone who requires precise ballistics data.

Remote waypoints

Would be five stars if it had the remote waypoint feature for supported devices like Sig Kilo 10k gen2.

Changing from old to new

It did take me a while to figure out how it works, since I had the old android system before, which I thought was great. It was not obvious how it works.

Serious Comm Issues

Update: I re-booted my iPad and my iPhone and the app works with both with no comms issues. The app is over my head in many respects, but very impressive. /// The app will not work with my Kestrel. It won’t download profiles and freezes repeatedly.

Great app and integrates with my Sig Kilo 3000 BDX and Garmin tactix 8 Solar Elite watch

I’ve used just about every ballistics solver there is. The AB Quantum does what is needed. Profiles can easily be built and/or loaded from Kestrel 5700 Elite. The profile(s) needed can be synced with Garmin watch, and I can laser a range and have firing solution displayed on the watch while getting on the gun. I like it!

Best Team Ever!!!!

AB is by far the best ballistic app out today. The app overall is just cleaner to me than others. A must if you want to learn ballistics or build a profile for your firearms. Also, the team at Applied is top notch!! They have gone above and beyond with any questions I have had. You are behind then curve if you don’t have this app!!!

Most comprehensive ballistics calc available

I have been using this app since its inception. I am an instructor for Bergara Long Range Shooting Academy in Wyoming. We teach a long range shooting classes and I use this app exclusively in those classes. It has been extremely useful and very helpful in our instructions. It is very comprehensive and works seamlessly with multiple range finders. I have found it to be very accurate out to distance of a mile and beyond.

Familiar if you've use ballistic calculators before. Best of the best with custom CDM availability.

I spent a lot of time prior in the paid version of Strelok Pro, as well as some time with Hornady 4DOF and Trasol. The Applied Ballistics app in its current incarnation is very familiar if you've wrangled those apps before and have experience in long range shooting. To the average new shooter, a lot will be unintelligible jargon (look angle, sight height, CDM, G7, etc.), but this should feel right at home to anyone experienced. The layout is consistent with generously sized buttons and text, and

Remarkable

Spot on for precision rifle work. Highly precise results. Take the time to put in all the data inputs. Use a good chronograph on each shot. Hoping for the tremor 3 reticle to be added. Thank you AB for a great tool.

Much better after update

The recent fix allows editing of parameters again and makes it a useful and intuitive program.

AB fixed the latest field editing bug in 24 hours

Developer fixed the field editing bug and all is good again. Thanks for the quick fix!

2 Negative User Reviews for Applied Ballistics

Too complicated

The older version was much easier to use for the average shooter

Fed up

There’s always glitches, iOS updates cause the app to crash out. Getting help from AB is a chore. You will deal mostly in daily emails. It’s frustrating. If you do call them the staff is arrogant and disrespectful. My AB still does not work like it should. I’ve had it for a very long time and it always has had issues. So many apps for less money and they don’t crash out treat their customers like trash.
