23 Positive User Reviews for Audyssey MultEQ Editor app

It works

I read about this app from Reddit forum. It’s quite pricey but I took a chance and gave it a try. It has some quirks and some networking issues but after a few tries I was able to get it working and the difference was enormous. It was worth it in the end… some more bug fixes and refinement would make this even better

Added functionality?

Might be nice but unfortunately you can’t use your phone or iPad to do the actual calibration. This would be ideal for those whose AVR is not in the room, but might be in a distant AV closet or similar. Was really hoping this would allow for initial remote calibration, but it does not.

Removed feature for no reason

This app used to be great in the past. It allowed you to send files to your receiver and to your computer as well as receive file that you have previously stored on your computer into the app so you can load it into your receiver or AV for whatever, they remove the ability to receive files from the computer, which is really frustrating. Additionally after the last update that I did all previous files that I had saved in the app disappeared highly disappointed in this app.

Does what it says on the tin

No real complaints - works as I expected and a bit easier to use over the reciever’s built in. The positions to measure are a bit clearer and the distances measured seem right - the reciever showed larger values. Adjusting the curves and mid correction is truly useful and makes it hard to quibble about the $20 but on a $3500 purchase it should be included so one star off for that

Stagnant for years. It needs to be updated and improved

It is useful and easy to use, but it has remained stagnant for years. It needs to be updated and improved beyond adding compatibility with new AVRs. For example, a few usability wish list items… Show actual post calibration measurements, not just predicted results. Show frequency response curves after just the first set of measurements (instead of min 3 sets) to speed up the optimal placement of speakers, subs and MLP, before running the 3 to 8 measurements once the optimal positions have b

Basics good, user experience bad

I’ve used this app quite a bit since getting my new Denon. Works great if you live in a perfectly quiet place. It lacks one key element during the testing : being able to repeat the last test on EVERY STEP. It allows RE-do on some, not all steps. NOT on say, the 7th and 8th step. So, so close to being through it all then a random siren, honk, or other loud noise ruins the run. The Denon receiver DOES allow each step to be redone, so please dear app devs, include the ability to “repeat last” on

Works great once you adjust

I pulled my hair out after my first adjustment… but once I spent a little time with it… my denon receiver is sounding great!

Cherry on top

Allows for East profile swaps if I open a window. Allows removal of mid frequency correction and high frequency adjustment. Allows checking of bass correction. If this won’t run, try reverting the AVR vanity name to default.

Works well with my Denon X2700H

.. though I wonder why I cannot download and view a calibration that was created with the receiver…? I can only see curves produced with this app. Frustrating.

A nice complement to any Denon or Marantz receivers

I see people giving a low star for too much noise and other problems, but first thing. Turn off any eco mode on your Denon or Marantz before calibration. You’ll thank me later. This app is A nice complement to any Denon or Marantz receivers. If you can buy a 2k-3k receiver then this $20 app shouldn’t be an issue.

Excellent flexibility

I’ve been using this app for a while now. Much better than calibration using the receiver. The flexibility to edit different things in copies and upload them is a great way to test different settings. Love it. No problems with my iPhone.

Solved my problems

My setup is in a small room and getting the sound tuned to my liking has been a journey but this app helped me run the setup much better than without it and the sound improvements are very noticeable so no complaints.

denon AVR works

decided to try, scare too but working fine , just couldn’t differentiate the curve correction for time being

ADY?

How can you view the curve file info? I can not locate a program to open an .ADY file so I can see where my system might be needing a tweak!! How can you read that file? Any help would be nice.

Works Great!

Never had any issues with the app.

Great app that gives you vast control over EQ perimeters.

Love it. Works perfectly and provides increased customization of your EQ settings for your specific room/speaker configuration. Easy to use and can load different EQ setups in a few mins.

Works well

A must have if you want to fine tune anything with Audyssey. I haven’t run into any issues yet and I’ve run the setup several times. I prefer this to the traditional remote. Highly recommend!

Audyssey App is Awesome!

One of the best apps ever! I love the personal touches that can be applied. Once upon a time to do similar things you needed the expensive Pro Kit. Now you can do it through your phone. Genius!!!

Denon 4300H / Polk Speakers

I like this app, well worth the $20 IMHO. I improved my mid range clarity with a slight improvement of bass. I like that I can go back to the “saved curved file” after I play around with settings. I have a 9.2 system.

4 Negative User Reviews for Audyssey MultEQ Editor app

Buggy and Annoying

I was performing a audyssey setup and when my phone locks I would lose everything and have to start over. I gave up after two tries. Last one I was on the last measurement.

Cash grab

20 bucks for a barebones app that really should have been included with a $1500 receiver

Needs more. Too automatic.

Wanted more function, got this. Needs more adjustability and options which are easily available in manual setup but cancels out the audyssey file.

Not great

Needs a feature. You must run the setup through this app. If you run the setup and then download the app it makes you do it again. This is a waste of time. It should be able to access the curve on the receiver for editing.
