This is a godsend.

I was looking for all types of Adblockers and trying to change advance settings, but it was useless to stop those annoying and reason to completely leave a site: “Open in App.” This app fixed the awful pop ups, and i can use sites like Reddit without being constantly forced to try to use an app i don’t want on my phone or iPad. I champion Banish to everyone because it is my most important app on my apple products. When i do a full restore, it is 100% my first app i prioritize so i can start look

Good. Sad I need to use it (nytimes).

I got this mainly to deal with the nytimes annoying popup to read a story in the app. It literally comes up every article, no matter how many times I click “no”. I do wish there was more fine grained control/whitelisting, as there are some apps that I do want deep links for, mainly YouTube.

Fixed

It also works to block websites from forcing you to use their app in order to view certain content instead of using safari! thanks to this app I can keep using Safari. Love it! 👍😎 They fixed it to work on zillow. Thanks

Just works!

Well worth the money. No more “use our app” nagging from Reddit. Such a relief!

Works even better than I hoped

It also works to block websites from forcing you to use their app in order to view certain content instead of using safari! thanks to this app I can keep using Safari. Love it! 👍😎however, I’ve submitted multiple times for them to make it work on zillow.com, unfortunately no bug fix or response to either email or form submission. Please fix.

Works well when it works

Seems to be working OK, as I’ve not noticed any “open in app” messages recently. Developer kindly explained that it will NOT work with all sites, such as Google Earth and probably a few others. Makes life easier!

New to this

Hope this app works as it says it will very excited

Good Job

Those open in app prompts were super annoying. Now just squash The NY Times pop up that tries to get you to use their app and I’ll be ecstatic. Edit: Today I am getting an open in app prompt for Facebook. Maybe they’re faking it or found a workaround or else there’s a bug in Banish. Edit: I’ve changed my rating as the NY Times problem remains unresolved and, furthermore, the web site is locking up on me now. Edit: changed my rating back as the NY Times app thing seems to have finally been fixed.

extra helpful

so i already have popup blockers through different adblocking extensions, but these only prevent unsolicited popups that show up when the page first loads. reddit and twitter have an insidious design where clicking on "reply" or "see all comments" will summon a popup or redirect you to a sign-up page and this new app prevents that from happening too by disabling those buttons.

Works well and responsive developer

It wasn't blocking the email prompt for Reddit (which I've been ignoring for YEARS) so I emailed the dev and a week later that was blocked. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also blocks some other popups but it's worth the cost for me just for Reddit.

Stopped working overnight

It’s a great idea; I loathe the apps that hijack your browser and force you to the app (or worse, worthlessly redirect you to the App Store even when you already have the app downloaded, thereby disrupting whatever you were reading). I paid for the app gladly, and it worked yesterday. Today, it’s not working at all; the Yelp mobile site is redirecting me to the app every time I try to click on anything. Love the concept, but I’m going to request a refund if this isn’t fixed pretty quickly.

It does precisely what it’s supposed to do

Makes browsing Reddit and other sites much more tolerable on the iPhone.

Late in my five stars

I needed a non beta device to leave this rating. Works as designed on 15.6.1 and latest iOS 16 beta. For me at least. Keep up the good work and frequent updates!!

Works well, developer is responsive

I didn’t realize how annoying the pop ups were until Banish blocked them. Nice utility.

Makes browsing so much better

This app is awesome. I browse Reddit and Twitter frequently on Safari and the Open in App banners have been annoying me for the longest time. I’m glad I found this app, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

The Savior, Our MESSIAH HAS ARRIVED

I HATE THOSE STUPID POP UPS. YOU HAVE DELIVERED ME AND MY FAMILY UNTO SALVATION WITH THIS APP!!!! THANK YOUUUUUUUH
