24 Positive User Reviews for Blink Shell 14: Legacy

Opinionated in ways that appeal to me; smidge unstable

I prefer Blink(.)app over its current competitors. My biggest complaint is that segfaults and outright app crashes occur too frequently. If the selling point is persistent remote logins, then the client app must be rock solid and this one isn't. More stability and I doubt I'd shop for other clients; as it stands now it remains my go to, but my feelers are up for a replacement.

Finally!

I’ve been looking for an App purely for remote development over ssh. This requires good support with Magic Keyboard. After trying almost all of them, this one is IT! For whatever reason all the other Apps were missing 1 of these most basic features: * Copy & Paste ( without screen jumps and touching ) * Key repeat when pressed Thanks team. I’ll be on the beach!

Best SSH client for iOS I’ve ever used

This is by far the best and most feature full SSH client I’ve ever used on an iOS/iPadOS device. I really appreciate that the main user interface is itself a command line interface. I mean I want to run an SSH session which is a terminal based app why not have the actual app itself be a terminal based environment. Well done and chock full of features and I will add rock solid reliable code allows me to remain in this app for hours at a time. If you want to SSH/Mosh into a server this app is well

Wonderful!

This is the best shell I've found on ios hands down! I love how everything is a terminal command

A bug I’ve noticed

Using the up arrow for history removes the spaces in the command. Also I know the workaround for the alt key but it would be nice to have something more intuitive than mapping it to escape. Otherwise a very valuable app that works well.

Love it and use it everyday

This app rocks, the mosh support is amazing, I use it for all my ssh connections and daily devops tasks.

Blink is excellent but there's a bug in the version that runs on macos

I can't seem to get copy paste to work with the mouse. As soon as I go to select text it's popping up a menu as if I was holding down the control key while dragging the mouse.

Amazing... wish I could give them more money

this one app takes the iPad from a toy consumption device to a pro level developer tool... best app ever made for the iPad. Thank you for making this app.

wonderful mosh client

keeps sessions alive in the background with ease. best client i’ve used for iOS.

PgDwn and up

I do not like the new version completely. Previous version I could scroll down fast with the, essentially pgdwn and pgup button but now I can’t

Mosh : Mac Catalina update (zsh)

For those of you having trouble since the Catalina update (which uses zsh as the default shell), try using the following for your mosh string: LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" /usr/local/bin/mosh-server

One of my favorite tools

Consistent, simple, and highly usable. Blink is a top notch utility.

Doesn't save passwords for FreeBSD

I added several hosts I work with, Linux, and FreeBSD (10.x, 11.x, and 12.x). For the Linux hosts, it logs right in. For the FreeBSD hosts, it prompts for a password, even when I've already entered one and saved it for the host.

Really the best ssh app for iOS

Love it. Crazy convenient UI. Obviously the the best. It’s totally worth the money!

First impressions? Whoaaa baby! This is fantastic!

Only been using it for 30 minutes, but so far I really love it. Never thought I’d have an app I loved this much on my iPad. That said, it has only been 30 minutes. I’ll update this review after I’ve used the app for a longer while.

Not without its quirks, but the best terminal for iOS there has ever been

I suppose the title says it all. Once in a while I accidentally open a second tab and have no idea how I did it, nor can I type anywhere. It takes me a few minutes to remember how to close the tab, and recover my ability to type commands.

Wonderful tools for heavy terminal users.

Those basic features are essential for me: SCP Port forwarding Background running

Makes my iPad a full dev box

The recent updates to support tmux scroll with the trackpad is just AMAZING! This has always been the weak point of using remote shell on the iPad. This makes the iPad unbelievable for remote shell work.

really excellent and innovative

Continued investment in developing this app has made it my tool of choice. Particularly I’m a fan of the latest keyboard — having a command key modifier on the touch keyboard is a simple, unique but incredibly effective feature.

does what it is supposed to do

Slim, efficient and fit for purpose.

Indispensable

I cannot imagine using IOS without this.

Best SSH Client for iOS

In field where’s many competitors Blink Shell stands out in every possible aspect. Simplicity of Blink is the key thing that keeps me here, and it’s my prime tool for the last 8 months. Pleasure to work with it. :)

1 Negative User Reviews for Blink Shell 14: Legacy

Cannot select text

Text selection is broken. Unable to select text on screen to copy. Would be 5 stars if this gets fixed. Love the app but I need to be able to select and copy text.
