Bluetooth+ for Blackmagic App Reviews

Camera would record but I could not stop recording . The only way to stop it is if I went into playback, but the playback didn’t have a play button or a way to get out of the playback so I kinda just got stuck in playback. So the only way to go back to live view was to go out to the arm car snd go back into live view . But I ended up using the DJI app to run still and if I needed to change camera settings use this app .

Just bought a bmpcc 4k and got this app right away. I love all the features. I just want to know if the developer ever plans on adding the ability to use this app as a bluetooth monitor? I would definitely be willing to pay extra for that.

Thought the focus didn’t work I was wrong but I hate the fact they try to upsell u into buying 1 that is just as good as the free 1 on Android

Maybe this has been brought up before or maybe i’ve been spoiled on other apps made by other manufacturers. Going through the app i can see that there is no ‘live view’ mode where i can see what the camera sees from my phone. Is this something that has been discussed and determined to not get brought to the app or can this be a feature added down the line? Thanks

First of all thanks for an essential app companion to the Cinema 6k. But we need you and BM too to add a function for PDAF selection. The beta version lacks to keep face mode selected as a solo shooter and a remote trigger would be perfect.

Love the control I have with this. Really seamless and works great… BUT, I know you Donny want to eat into your monitor sales, but for those of us on an extreme budget, I wish I could actually use my phone as an external monitor via Bluetooth. Huge ask. Hope you guys follow through.

I use it for rack focus mostly. Would be really nice if the zoom screen also had A, B, C presets similar to the focus screen. Is this on the roadmap?

It’s a smooth working app but it does not let you look at your footage. It’s just let’s you control all the features—just no live view or ability to watch your footage within the app. Otherwise a good app.

Hi, cant seem to get the app on my watch, maybe I am doing something wrong? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Great app, looking forward to using it for my shoot in a few days.

This app has helped my workflow in a ton of ways. It works flawlessly except for playback. There seems to be issues that cause the camera to freeze when triggering playback through this app. Other than that it’s a great app. A small part of my touch screen on my camera stopped working but I can use this app to change settings. It would be great if the slate on the app allowed for editing project name, director, cam operator the same way it does on the camera. As is it’s a great app and must have

Thanks for a solid app. Is there no way to connect to Apple Watch? YouTube reviewer are claiming Apple Watch is supported.

The title speaks for itself. If we’re paying money for all of these features, there HAS to be an external monitor feature. Canon app has this feature. Please please please add it.

It allows me to more easily change what I want from my phone or tablet without having to worry or deal with using the touch screen when I don’t want too. Which also makes it great for a 1st AC to change things remotely. The only thing that would make this app better is if it acted like a wireless monitor as well.

Very thankful for this app as well as the excellent support they provide. A real help.

This would be a perfect app if it also let you see yourself to check focus.

What might be the problem? I keep getting disconnecting issues!! Any know issues? I have the app running on iphone 14 Pro Max IOS 17.3.1

Cameras routinely disconnect even when my phone is within a foot. The range (when working) also leaves a lot to be desired. Pocket Cinema 6K routinely lose connection around 20-30 feet from my phone. G1s and G2s fair only slightly better with a range of ~40 feet. Don’t waste your money on this app.

loved and used this app a lot several years ago. updated it and went to use it for a project i’m working on currently only to find that the monitor function i used to use a great deal has been axed/paywalled. scummy move. terrible look.
