Book Tracker: Reading log App Reviews

I don’t know why there are hardly any good reading apps out there, but I was desperately searching for an app with a decent ui and customizable usage. This is better than I ever even hoped. It’s not a social app, but it blows its competition out of the water. User friendly? Check. Big catalogue of books? Check. Track books and streaks? Check. Half stars? Honey you can put in tenths.

Review of Book Tracker This app meets all my wishes for a library manager for books, audio books, owned and borrowed. The developer is very responsive and answered my questions in one business day. I also like that it is a lifetime purchase. I purchased both the iOS and macos versions and they’ve sync excellently. Very good app. Oops I thought I rated the app 5. I’m correcting it.

This app works the best for keeping track of books I have, want and read. I am an avid reader with a large library of books, ebooks, and audiobooks. Some I buy, some I borrow from places like Libby or the library. For my audiobooks I like that I can look up by narrators. I have tried a number of tracker apps and this allows the most information to be entered by using tabs. Once entered, I can look at an entry and know if it is part of a series, if it’s audio or physical book, where it’s loca

I wish I could connect notes to quotes somehow, or add notes to quotes- I pick quotes based on how they impact me (if that makes sense).

Tracking my reading in time and quantity of books really motivates me to keep reading. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this app that could do these things but also pages read and so much more! I really enjoy that I can scan my books into the app after a book haul so I can keep track of what I own as well as borrow from the library. I also like the end of the year stats on books, authors, genres, longest book, etc! Oh, and you can keep all of the highlights/quotes you find in your boo

What I REALLY appreciate about this app is that the developer is consistently adding updates. This shows they are concerned with creating the best app possible. In some ways, however, the app is not completely intuitive and confusing. Update: It would be nice to have an Apple Watch complication that shows current page number or reading time. Also I am still trying to figure out what “Reading states” means. I think “Reading status” would be more clearly understood.

Really an extraordinary application. Unusually customizable, fast, configurable, works with shortcuts and all different kinds of reading workflows. I was very surprised and impressed, this is well worth the lifetime subscription fee.

An amazing way to track books owned, read, and on TBR lists. However it’s missing a way to classify books as no longer owned. It’s just owned and wish listed books. There’s books I’ve read that I don’t keep once I’ve finished them and it would be nice to be able to have that option for the books cataloged in this app.

One of my favorite apps. Love the look. I had made a request to add a category for borrowed books, and sure enough it got added. Just a great interface, use it every day!

General, it’s a good app. Nicely organized, comes with a wish list and a tracker. The only thing that made me not want the app anymore was the fact you had to pay for an unlimited number of books to add onto either list (tracker/wish). Money is currently tight for me, so I’m unable to pay the 11 bucks it’s asking for, but if you got the funds and like a well running app, I definitely suggest this!

Book tracker and library manager , but also a powerful way to save highlights and notes on each book . I like the consistent layout design between all your apps , keep up the good work

Only thing I would change is making the length of the audiobooks hours and minutes, not just minutes.

I’ve had the Book Tracker for a few years and only this month really made use of it. It’s a tad clunky to use (sometimes more than a tad) and if you’re not VERY careful one can sometimes inadvertently lose info. But the info it stores, and the valuable option of being able to search the web for a full entry, are amazing features. An instruction manual would be great. I am also purchasing the Music Tracker to log my hundreds of CDs.

The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish the widget would allow for more than one book. When I first got it did go back and forth between the two books I was reading and would pop up with the most recent one I marked my progress in, but now it only allows for one book. Other than that it is fantastic! I love being to see all my books and being able to add so much information about each one!

I really love this app and it’s 100% worth the price. (I think I paid like $1.99 one time for full access?) Literally the best book tracking app I’ve ever used. There’s a section for read, reading, borrowed, and wish list. You can add tags, save quotes, scan barcodes, and a bunch of other stuff. Plus when I needed help with something I got a response within a day. Also not sponsored or anything I just genuinely love this app lol

You can track books that you’ve read,and own! But there is one thing I wish you could do: when I forget to log pages from the previous day I can’t edit that so can you add that?

I really like the app overall. I can save all my books track my reading and stats and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The only thing I wish I could do is go back and change the pages I’ve read on certain days. I never remember to log my pages until the next day and so it looks like I’ve read more that day than I actually have. I would say that’s the only thing I wish was different.

This is the best book app out and I’ve downloaded them all. The developer also responds really fast when email with suggestions or questions. Recommend this app 💯

I purchased both the iPhone app and the app for my Mac hoping I could update and modify my book collection on both platforms and have it sync with itself, but it doesn’t so if I want them to match I have to manually update each app. Wish it synced to avoid extra work

a, You can’t search audiobooks by ASIN b, Authors’ frist and last names are showing in wrong order c, No report button for missing books or wrong info d, No “sort by types”, paper/audio/etc. e, You can’t see the online reviews, yet there’s a star rating stick with each book, and you can’t remove or change it by just simply clicking on it, you need to go to the edit page, scroll down to find the rating, and then click on the stars... kind of stupid and annoying.

You can track books that you’ve read,and own!

I download a few other apps and liked this one the best for logging the books in my library. However, in future updates I would like to see the amount of books I’ve read out of the ones i own. It would also be nice to see statistics of genres I’ve read through the year. Overall a very nice app

I looked for an app like this for awhile, trying a variety of apps marketed similarly, but none come close to packaging all the necessary features in a smart, intuitive, and well-packaged product. 5 stars

This App has all the features I was looking for. The developer was very quick and informative in the responses to questions I had.

Really is a good tool to try and manage all of the books that you read, and it’s fun to see the stats at the end.

Look no further!! The app is designed fantastically. Easy to use, Intuitive. Most features you’d need are there including tracking your books that you’ve loaned out! The developer is super responsive should you have any issues! I can wish nothing but the best to the app and the developers!

This is a great app and has a really responsive developer. I use the app to organize my books by location as I have some at home and some at the university.

I was just adding books to my library and sorting by author and the interface was so seamless and the information so well presented. The data is clear and the dashboards are also great. I was so impressed with my experience using this app over the last year I did the unusual. I wrote a review. The only thing missing that would make this perfect is if my highlights dynamically pulled into the quotes section rather than having to manually copy and paste. Love this app and been using it for a few years now. However, the latest update seems to have removed certain data. I can’t tell how my current number of total pages read this year compares to last. Not sure why this feature was eliminated.

I genuinely love this app, I just wish it would let me have the ability to edit the month I read a book so the statistics can be more accurate.

I would give this app 5 starts in my sleep if it weren’t for the new update with the new book barcode scanner. The old version’s scanner was much more user friendly and easier to scan books…the new version is basically unusable. I’ve had to type the ISBN numbers in instead of using the scanner. OTHERWISE, this app has been invaluable in helping me heel track of my current library, my wish list, and track my reading. Excellent work.

I just started using this app to keep track of my growing collection. I love how it’s organized, set up, and super easy to use. However I would love if I could set unknown start and finish dates. My statistics will be really weird if I have 60+ books read in one day.

It’s a nice app to organize your books. I like knowing what books I have and where they’re at and with this app I can organize with tags and other categories.

This app does everything I want it to. I’m able to classify books I own in any format (physical, ebook, audiobook), track my progress and annual reading statistics. The app is very clean and has a simple UI. It even has a nice feature to track if I loaned a physical copy to a friend. Worth the price!

I love that this app does not collect any data, which is awesome! It is also really beautiful and it makes tracking what I’m reading really easy. I love that it has widgets.

Been looking for a book tracker to keep track of what I’ve read so I can make recommendations to friends. It’s so organized, plenty of room for notes, quotes, and tags. I wish there was a better way to track audiobooks and hours listened but not really a deterrent for me. One other thing is I wish it was synced to my phone as I usually use my iPad but I don’t always have it with me. Maybe there is a way and I just haven’t found it! But those are things that would make this app 5/5 stars :)

It’s difficult to believe that this app is the product of a single developer. Robust and clever, updated frequently.

I really feel that this is a great app for book lovers and that’s why I’m leaving a review. I love that you’re able to track the amount of books read by month and by year. It would be amazing if the app would also track purchases as well, by month and by year, that would make the app much more detailed in how book lovers can read their books whenever they have a lot and read them in order. Thank you so much for the app and I appreciate the innovation.

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for!

This app lets me privately keep track of what I have read, make personal tags for categorizing and write a thought about the book. Exactly what I wanted at a reasonable one time price.

Good basic app for keeping track of books and quotes. I just wish it was a bit more customizable with option like purchase location, number of copies etc. Also no way to customize “shelves” or anything. Limited to to read, reading and read.

A great looking visual library of your book collection, for mac and iOS.
