Features request to an already Beautiful & Functional app on iOS

Not sure how tough these are based on your team strength; but requesting below missing features for a complete app đź‘Ť 1. Sub tasks 2. Focus timer 3. Agenda view (2x4 view) 4. Eisenhower matrix Thank you!

UI Improved But Note Optimized

I want to love BusyCal, but a chronic issue hasn’t been addressed. When an event's end time and start time are the same, BusyCal doesn’t differentiate between the end and start time of the events. The events overlap instead of laying flush like how Apple Calendar does. When this occurs, it looks as if the event that’s starting is 15 minutes earlier and the ending event is 15 minutes later. Edited 2/24/2024 The development team was very responsive to my initial post and assisted with addressing m

Great app, needs a few improvements

BusyCal is a wonderful app that I have used all day/every day for many many years! To Devs: 1. Please allow users to edit the completion date for completed tasks. 2. Allow syncing 3 to 5 years of tasks & calendar events (1 year is not enough and All is too much). 3. I cannot turn off the setting to “dim completed tasks” (even when the setting is toggled to off it’s on).

Love this

Absolutely no complaints here. Best calendar app I’ve ever used. Thanks!

Does what it’s supposed to

Great product. I’m at a calendar app that allows you to have reminders in the same app. Less useful than I thought that was going to be, but it still does it.

Fantastic features. Works for my brain.

Calendars 5 and Fantastical are nothing compared to this app. Your ability to schedule reminders as events on the calendar is fantastic. I really appreciate this app. Thank you all for making it! It also works beautifully with the Mac app. The feature parity is impressive. Thank you for not being a scummy subscription app.

Solid app missing some key features

Recently moved from Fantastical, and am generally happy. Would really like for the colors of events to sync from the desktop busycal application and not sure I’ll stay with the app because it’s missing event templates where I can easily create those frequent appointments with doctor or trainer etc

Great support and longevity

It’s worked seamlessly for me for 10 years. In the few occasions of problems (minor like holidays loading ) support responded to my emails within hours and helped me solve the issues. Update : Still working seamlessly between my Apple devices. Love that the app has a minimal fee every two years to keep the software updated rather than the dreaded “monthly subscription” fee.

Great Non-subscription app

The app works great however I am not the biggest fan of the design. I love that this app is still a one time payment. I used fantastical for a long time but got tired of things being locked behind their subscription. This was a great alternative.

Such a Beautiful & Functional app on iOS

I have used plenty of productivity apps like this, but this app is full of features!!! So far the only missing is adding sub tasks to tasks imo. But I see regular genuine updates with new features going on & so believe they will bring in this feature soon. Glad I found this app! Thanks & Hats off!!!

Crashes On iPad After Update

Has worked perfectly until today (11/14/23) when I did an update on my iPad. App constantly crashes immediately and will not open. Do not seem to have this issue with my phone. I tried deleting the app & re-downloading, but it made no difference - still crashes immediately & will not open.

Awesome calendar

After reviewing several calendar apps to sync my synology calendar with, I finally found BusyCal. It works perfectly for me. Alerts and interface are better the others that I’ve tried. Very satisfied.

Great But

I really like this app and paid for it but the colors don’t pop enough and I don’t see an option to highlight all calendars with their colors.

Great support and longevity

It’s worked seamlessly for me for 10 years. In the few occasions of problems (minor like holidays loading ) support responded to my emails within hours and helped me solve the issues.

UI Improved But Note Optimized

It is encouraging to see a rollout of UI updates. However, the glaring issue with the platform's UI is that the Calendar event titles don't fit into the event box. I can not read most of my calendar events. Apple Calendar doesn’t have this issue; I can see the entire event title. This is the reason I can not commit to BusyCal. I hope this can be prioritized in your next update.

Essential

I don't know how people use the Calendar and Reminders without Busy Cal. It's essential software, for iOS and Mac. The developers are pretty responsive with questions, too, although sometimes if it's a tricky question it takes a while to get it resolved.

One of the best calendars and excellent value

Despite the title I rated the app a 4. Only because it could be the best if it offered a week view where each day is a row having events lined up left to right. I’ve seen this on two other calendars and I think it’s the best way to view a week. That’s a preference. This calendar is rent nice. I’m enjoying using it to stay organized.

Feature updates

I am on the hunt for a new calendar & task manager. Overall, this seems like the app I will choose. However, there are a few features that I think could really enhance BusyCal. When setting a time for a task, allowing us to select both a start and end time. Then when the task populates on the day view, it won’t block an hour of my calendar, when it could be only a 15 min task. The full month view isn’t great, some enhancements to the UI would be nicer

Integrates calendar and to-do’s

BusyCal wins over other calendars for many reasons. First, the iPad / iPhone / Mac coordination is perfect. Second, there are relatively few calendars that integrate the calendar and “to-do” functions. BusyCal does a great job of combining the two. Also: I used to think the graphics were just fun. I’ve now learned to use them so that, at a fast glance, I can see what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks. Also: I’ve had occasional hiccups and user support has been fast and first-rate. Zero com

Please make a sideways view like Readdle’s Calendars

Love this calendar but really need a sideways view of my events (instead of scrolling up and down for day/week view). Would like for events to go from left to right like Readdle’s calendar app. Almost perfect! Please add this feature 🥰

Can we please

Get the ability to make the event list a larger font? Single day is fine but not sure why week view is an option when you can only see a few days of the week at a time anyhow. If this feature was a thing I would only be using this calendar. The macOS is fine because you can change the font but this one doesn’t work when you change the font through the scalable text option in the phone settings. Otherwise it’s a wonderful app with a lot of options. PLEASE make this happen and it could be THE cale

Now perfect (was:Almost perfect)

The one missing feature is the ability to optionally specify a different calendar view (daily/weekly/monthly/etc.) with each calendar set. Update: this feature was added, so I’ve giving BusyCal 5 stars.

Almost perfect.

Love that calendars and to-do is built into the same app. Also really like the view options. Couple of things I’d change: 1. More color/theme options 2. Change how inbox functions. If I sync events 6 months back I don’t need to see when something older than 6 months is removed from the app. 3. Built in popular calendar options including the world’s game: soccer. This is pretty minor as I can find these calendars elsewhere. Other than that I’ve been very pleased. Would like to have a designate

Wow

I have never left a review before but, the only thing I didn’t like was the lack of a single event having a single banner in month view. So I sent a feature request, didn’t think much of it, and now I see it is in the latest version. Thanks so much. Going to purchase for mac now!

One more thing

Needs Apple Watch complications!

Almost perfect

A Great Cal App… for iOS.

Please make a Contacts App too… for iOS.

Very good

Solved the lacking issues with the iOS native app.

Month View Text Too Small for iPad Pro

On my iPad Pro, the text is too small in the month view and not adjustable. I can increase text size in day and week views, but not for month view. It would be nice to add a setting to increase text size in month view. Also, having the text font colors match the calendar colors would also be nice.

Widgets

No widgets available on iPad and Apple Watch.

It’s perfect!

It’s perfect now - don’t change a thing! Please DO NOT bring back that “long tap for new event” nonsense.

Good calendar app but missing Apple Watch

Really pleased with all the iOS integration but the missing piece is WatchOS. Need that missing piece to make it a real winner or even competitor in the calendar app “market.”

Widgets

No widget on iPad and Apple Watch

Needs reminders subtask

Otherwise it’s an amazing calendar app!

It was a good app.

But it got complicated, plus it switch to a subscription model. I don’t do subscriptions.

1 Negative User Reviews for BusyCal: Calendar & Tasks

Sync with Apple Calendars does not work

I really want to like the app. It looks nice and works for the most part. But for me, the ability to sync with the local calendars that are set up in iOS is vital; my employer does not allow to add my email/calendar account to third-party apps, only to iOS directly. Although the developer added this option to BusyCal, it does not work correctly: new and deleted events work as expected, but when I change an existing event, then this change is never reflected in BusyCal. The only way to make a ch
