Camera for OBS Studio App Reviews

Would love to buy this app. But $11/month subscription is a bust. Not going to recommend to anyone. I’m already lossing the ability to use my phone when using it as a webcam, and the developer is expecting to collect a premium fee for this? Yikes.

Powered (active) USB-C (male) to USB-C (male) extension cables go up to 15ft at this time, but unfortunately it's not long enough for my use case. Your mileage may vary, but the video freezes quite often on OBS and I have to reboot it every time, taking my focus away from my stream.

This is such a great app if you use OBS for anything. It connects and just works. Only thing I’m hoping they add is manual aperture control, as the app is lacking but new iPhones support it.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for how quickly the developer updated their OBS plug-in to use this app to be compatible with OBS 28. Also, since that plug-in is only applicable for people using the USB input, just a note that until OBS NDI plug-in is updated by its developer (supposedly in progress), you can download the NDI tools from Newtek and use the NDI virtual input program to patch an NDI stream to a webcam stream and bring it in to OBS that way.

I am using this app with an iPod as an OBS source via an Ethernet connection. This allows me to have very low latency in my OBS stream and power the iPod at the same time. The iPod is mounted high on a side wall, and this app allows me to control all of the camera settings right in the OBS screen. It’s a great setup and works very well. I wanted to use this as a wireless camera for when I stream in another room than where my pc is but the audio that comes out is so bad. It’s extremely staticy and voices keep cutting off.

This app says it’s connected. I see it in source to load in obs but when I try it’s just black screen, so you know what I can do to response this?

I feel like this app is okay. I know making cameras work with OBS and I understand the price, but the only reason I would buy a subscription or lifetime is to get rid of the watermark. Can’t you just make a IAP for only remove the watermark? If you do that, I’ll buy that Thanks!

started seeing lag/shutter issue when I use NewTek NDI after recent update (iphone 13 pro). i have other phone (iphone 11) with older version and it is working fine. or is it iOS update causing the issue?

Cannot manually select shutter speed. Each time I tap one of them it defaults back to 1/15th which is completely unusable. Please fix or I cannot make videos.

I tried a few getting a few options to work with my OBS install and this app was the easiest and most consistent to use. We’ll worth the cost and if compared to a capture card and digital SLR or GoPro it’s a down right steal. Love it!

Seriously. Works as it should. Rarely have ever had issues with updates. Wonderful app, wonderful plugin. I will say the only feature I find lacking is faux bokeh. It’d be nice if the app could do something similar to foco.

Really my only complaint is that it’s expensive. Otherwise super helpful to set up and use, a lot of settings like a real camera and worth the money if you’re investing in streaming or other videos.

Got it to work in 10 minutes. Make sure you have a good cable. This will be perfect since my iPhone 12 has 4K… such a big upgrade from my logi 1080p. Thanks 🙏🏾

Took a lot but I finally made it work.

Video bit rate is limited to only 60 MB’s. We need that 100,150mbs so we can truly have that DSLR quality

Works super well for streaming and recording. I just wish there was a feature to record your phone screen

How do you hide the icons around the camera - it's annoying since I cannot see the whole screen!

My 16 inch core i9 MacBook Pro is struggling to record or stream 4K with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. There is like a 15 second lag.

The latency is almost a full second. Since I’m recording audio through a real microphone, I’ll have to adjust the audio to compensate when editing. I’m disappointed. The recording appears to be smooth, though, which is better than EpocCam.

I just wanted to know how can I get the videos I recored using the app while connected to my pc on my iPhone? Please help

I think this app is great. I’m really impressed with it so far. I was having some issues and reached out via the “Contact Us” section and my question was answered quickly and with great detail.

I hade downloaded it for dj stream, I have an iPhone 12 pro max and a hop laptop and I can not connect with the laptop, I have downloaded the iTunes and it still does no recognize it, it does not appear in the laptop as a device

It would be great if we could: - Lock landscape orientation directly from the app - Keep streaming when leaving the app

I’m generally pleased ... but the lag while on using a band-new iPhone 12 and brand-new MacBook Pro is still an issue ... I hope future updates make wired connections closer to real-time.

I had a problem getting my iPhone to connect by usb. Customer service sent me a list of things to try. I had to reset the network settings and now it works perfectly. Using an iPhone as a camera is much better than my webcams.

I seem to be having a problem whenever I switch to wide angle mode....the entire thing just freezes only mode that works is dual camera however I know my phone does have wide angle mode IPhone XS Max. Any help with this would be appreciated.

This worked great for my wife and I. We were doing a very simple live for her business and this app did the trick for us. Very straightforward. Plugged it in and the app recognized it immediately. No issues at all. Worth every penny.

Are use this all the time to connect my iPhone and iPad to my Mac and use the two devices as cameras with OBS studio. It works great and the support team has been very helpful.

I just discovered OBS and wanting to use my iPhone camera I found this and it works great! I am curious if it would be possible to add support for using AirPods as a wireless microphone?? That would be amazing!

They updated the app to add flash lights and Bluetooth audio too??! OMG! This is too good! Worth every penny! Recording interviews and shows is too easy now ! Lord Jesus bless y’all!

Make sure you keep iTunes open if you want the USB connection to work. iTunes must remain open the entire time you are using the app.

There was a major update in which the UI changes. This is huge progress and it’s been working great. Definitely recommending this over any web cam, any day.

This app is so great ! Makes shooting videos easy ! I don’t need to buy a professional camera or anything ! Makes everything easy! Hope they add the flashlight option to the camera though !

Buy a webcam and save yourself the embarrassment of a lousy stream because of this app. - It’s full of issues that have existed for months, It’s poorly documented, and overpriced for the lousy job it does.

It was great for months and all of a sudden I weird pink began popping up during my live stream. Can’t figure out why or how to fix it
