This app has the simple black and white 2D layout that is simply the best for a flat screen. However, the bot is keen on repeating moves in situations where the pieces are in a lose-lose position. Generally speaking, if one repeats 20 times the game should be called a draw. I often play for draws, as they have a way of offering a balanced result in terms of overall skill.

In the puzzles part of the app where you solve in two moves etc., the pieces are already in position. Due to the pieces being illegally positioned, it’s impossible to achieve. And the game just keeps you unable to solve that level unless you buy hints. But playing as a beginner, I guess it’s ok. But I think advanced players will be pretty annoyed. I wished the puzzles were achievable and not fraudulent. : ))

Doesn’t explain how to castle or May not be possible

I'm a novice chess player but rarely have an opponent or time to play. The mate in 2/3 puzzles are ideal for me and I try to do one every day. I just bumped into #344 and after much research have confirmed that there is no mate in two! No matter- the.app allows me to skip it and proceed to 345. Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment to spite #344!

The pieces look real, the movements are easy, and the app supplies a number of options that allow the user to make changes as desired.

Challenging, Easy to read the board,Fun And easy to cheat by Undo last move. It’s good for my ego :)

Keeps me mentally active

I love chess. It is the best game ever I play with my mom, my dad, my brother and my sister my myself, and I do the puzzles.

Fun game puzzles keeps you guessing, chest game as you win the game gets harder believe this is the game I been waiting for.

Very cool and user friendly. Three levels of difficulty to choose from depending on your experience. I love playing this version, and I think you will too. Thank you!

Bishop moves out with out reason or protection on what is suppose to be level difficult

Stalemating me when I've cornered the computer's King is no way to end the game. I've just played 3 games in a row this evening and each time I cornered the King, my next move is always stalemated. Either I play until my King is checkmated or the computer is... It's a win or lose game.

Awesome chess game and puzzles

Hardest level isn't that difficult. No way to save games. No history to look back on after game ends.

Have had this app literally for YEARS. No annoying ads, no in-game purchases, the difficulty levels are accurate and offer exceptional intellectual challenges. Pieces are always easy to see, and gameplay is flawless!! If I could give this app a better rating than five stars I would.

As long as there are apps like this, I will have a sharper mind in the long run. Playing chess is better for your brain than scrolling through TikTok or YouTube shorts. Not waiting for anyone to join and no commercials or sales gimmicks and NO social media

simple game of chess with multiple difficulty levels. There isnt a online gameplay option but multiplayer is also available. Also puzzles are available which are actually pretty useful, where they set up the board and you must figure out how to win in one move

This is a no frills chess APP. On the plus side there are no annoying ads. On the negative, the chess engine is not very powerful. I routinely beat the hardest level. Also the programming doesn’t have all the rules. The APP does not recognize draw by three-fold repetition. The computer opponent will always trade equal pieces. After a game is over you can’t undo moves or replay the game through the APP.

Been playing for 30 years and this is bar none the best chess game I've played on an IPhone, iPad or MacBook. Oh yeah them pc's too!

This game is really nice

This is a great offline chess game without ads! Totally was looking for this, plus it’s got puzzles!

This app really taught me the basics and helped me get really good at playing chess.

Forgot how to play after 15 years of not playing and started out on beginner with hints and remembering little by little how to play advanced games :))

With the colors the way that they are now I’m having a hard time seeing which prices are which.

Great game !!! The only thing that disappointed me that the puzzles are limited and run out.

The game doesn't recognize or provide an option to declare a threefold repetition draw. Also, no choice of piece possible during pawn promotion--you get a Queen every time, and have no way to change that.
