I really hope we can change the display language inside the game instead of changing system language.
Appears to be missing the anime cutscene when Robo first appears. I read online the cutscenes are there on later events (Ayla) but wanted to reach out on the store page as I have not gotten that far yet. I do see the Movies option in Extras but I haven’t cleared the game yet to be able to see them. Thanks for bringing this classic to iOS, it plays like a dream with no hassle in regard to mechanics and controls.
A solid port of one of the greatest RPGs ever made. Selection on menus when playing on iOS is a little difficult but gameplay on AppleTV, with any controller, is just like playing in the 90s.
Doesn’t suffer from the same frame pacing issues that that PC (Steam) version has a modern hardware/Windows. Yay! However, there is an awful filter that just ruins the pixel art that you can’t disable. This filter is present on PC but you can turn it off. If this port had feature parity with the PC version, it would be the best way to play this game easily (unless they fixed the PC port). Between the weird issues and poor design choice on any platform, the best version of the game remains the D
They made this soooo easy to play on the phone. An actual dream. Would love more Jrpgs to be this well made.
That it. That’s the review.
This game is an actual masterpiece and could potentially be the greatest story ever told through any medium. Story: 10/10 Music: 10/10 Gameplay: 10/10 (Git gud Death Mountain Haters) If for whatever reason you haven't played this absolutely EPIC JRPG yet... Do it. Your only regret will be that you didn't pick it up sooner.
Chrono Trigger is a timeless classic. I love it, and I hope that if you’re reading this that you do or will love it as well.
This game is one of the best- The Best RPGs ever, and it’s on iOS. Seriously. This is awesome. The only thing that would make it better, would the additional cut scenes from the PlayStation. Otherwise, very nice.
It’s a fabulous game, but please add controller supporr
If you love RPG’s and have never played this SNES Square-soft classic do yourself a favor and pull the trigger and buy it. It doesn’t even have to be this App Store. This story takes you threw time and will be an adventure that you will never forget. Forget about the graphics and delve into the story and have fun grinding levels. There is a new game + mode which is well worth it.
The diagonal controls stutter and when you select illustrations in extras, it crashes the game. Update was good, however, needs more optimization.
It’s chrono trigger so it’s good. 5 stars
Played it back on the SNES. Honestly I was not expecting to like the mobile version. I was wrong. This is great! The worst part is the cutscenes (kept from the PS1) that feel like they interrupt the moment, but you can skip them and there are not that many.
Really love the quality of this port, well done. Movement needs improvement - for example in Proto Dome level when chasing the rat, cursor isn’t reactive enough for movement. When standing on the save points, can’t really click on them and have to click a bunch of times around the save points to activate the save menu. There needs to be a way to turn off sound in game.
I’m not sure why, but it’s hard to hit the wheel on the dragon tank. I can change the target to anything else no problem, but tapping that wheel doesn’t always work, and when I fail to tap the wheel, it thinks I’m locking in the default selection of the body. That wheel killed me twice because I just couldn’t attack it. Please fix this.
As far as I can tell this is a pretty good port of CHRONO Trigger. I’ve clocked in 12 hours so far and it’s never had any glitches or crashes and I play on the IPhone X. I had some trouble with a mini game at Leanne Square where you toss the rocks at the creatures to push them back but other than that it’s been alright. It was just slow response time to my button pressing.
I played this game on SNES and it plays so well on the iPhone. I’ve replayed it so many times over the years and was so happy to see it available on iOS and have continued to replay it. For anyone who is a fan of RPGs I HIGHLY recommend this game. It is truly a classic.
It’s a classic rpg, but it suffers from the same annoying music bug that plagues squares latest ports. Basically, the music resets after every battle. I really hope they fix this along with FF7
Great port of the game , so please consider add mac support consider the m1 chips mac
Seriously. This is one of the best rpg games of all time. Played since it’s release. Just play this all the way I’m end out if you haven’t. Good game.
Still some text bugs though. Starting with Magus, and continuing to prehistoric times, the text was jumpy. Also, one of Magus’ flames didn’t spawn in the circle around him. The Robo anime sequence isn’t triggering.
It’s a good game and it’s cool how you turned a controller game into a mobile game.
This is the best JRPG and arguably the greatest RPG ever made. Art was done by the creator of DBZ and music/design was but the guys behind FF6&7. It’s absolutely amazing.
Amazing game and amazing port. One of the bests games I’ve ever played.
The first time I played this game was on an snes at my friends house. The last time was on PS3. I love this version, it has joystick support the added movies for the game. And now it’s full screen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brings back my childhood in the best way.
Surprised this game is still getting support from the developers, the only thing that would make this perfect is a crt filter
Add iCloud please Edit now this is a definitive version now if you can do the same for final fantasy tactics, saga frointer, LoM, and ff9 in adding full screen support that will be perfect
This is the best. That is all you need to know.
Just started this game a couple hours ago. Like it a lot but the audio keeps cutting out and going silent :(
Change the font, why do you guys keep putting basic arial fonts in pixelated games? Looks atrocious
the only big problem i have with this game is a lack on ingame volume control so I can listen to my other stuff on the phone otherwise it’s a great port
I never leave reviews for anything, yet here I am... dropping 5 stars.
I have trouble with the controls. Whoever ported this should make it controller compatible. Catching that rat is impossible.
Controls still feel wonky, and I hate when the character runs under my thumb. Also the UI for stores is not the same as the OG game and it bugs me. Still, this game was one of the best SNES games ever no is genre defining for a reason.
I’m in my late 30s and I still love this game. Solid narrative, engrossing characters, 90s nostalgia.
I own the original on my old Super Nintendo. Best game of all time. So glad to own it on my iPad.
For some reason the audio doesn’t work at all. One if my favorite aspects of the game was the music. Playing in complete silence isn’t fun
Love this game and I enjoyed this port. Controls take some time getting used to but since it’s on a phone I guess it’s understandable . Hadn’t played it since I was a teenager so it was as nice
Truly the best RPG. Best story. Best music.
Cut scenes aren’t working for my IPhone 7.
Please add ability to disable border image, add original pixel art 16bit mode.

You would think after so many years that they would fix the issues with being able to toggle the sound. There is no option to so you can play your own music while playing.
The game would be much more fun if selecting enemies to attack wasn’t entirely terrible. If the boss is a large character model you’re simply not allowed to attack his underlings. You can only attack him. This is a halfassed port
