I am not one to rent cars in Italy. Spouse and I found Cotral very nice & reliable while exploring towns in Lazio north of Rome. No problems boarding with luggage.

The location data is often incorrect. Busses say that have passed when they haven’t... some buses simply never update and it’s difficult to tell if the god isn’t working or the bus is not coming. There is no way to save favorite routes or destinations. It seems impossible to tell what side of the street the bus is stopping on (unless you are already familiar with the lines for example busses coming from Rome stop on the same side I take to get to work - I haven’t understood how to read the other
