I never write app reviews but don’t want to keep this amazing app to myself. I can’t say enough good things about this app. It’s so easy to use and makes collecting and organizing recipes a breeze. I love the importing functionality.

This is hands down the best recipe app we have worked with. The organization, ability to pull data from the internet and make it into a recipe, the family sharing and ease of use leaves it without any decent competitors. We ran into one small problem while moving to a new iPhone. The developer responded to our inquiry in a matter of minutes and solved our issue. It motivated me to do what I never do and come and write this review.

Even if I can create recipes using Chinese, I can't search using Chinese. Seems rediculous to me...

Really love the attention to detail and thoughtful UX but found that the standard import tool for web recipes was really hit or miss - not great at all. But if you upgrade to the plan that includes the new AI import tool, I’ve found that much more reliable. It pulled in ingredients that the standard import missed - correctly separated steps in the recipe (instead of one big blob of text). I am hoping this sticks as I really like the app but the import functionality was holding me back from repla

No exaggeration. I use this app daily. One of the most well made and thoughtful apps I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Honestly the only reason I haven’t switched to Android.

The app is good but I don’t know why nobody is talking about how it’s $25 once you want to have more than 5 recipes. Paprika is the #1 paid app in this category and it’s exactly like this app but it’s $5. I switched over and love it.

This app is exactly what I've been looking for in a recipe/food planner app. Crouton has everything I need in a easy to use and beautiful app. The developer is great at responding to questions and stays on top of adding features from Apple. Highly recommend.

Crouton is an app I use weekly. I use it for planning meals, saving recipes, and during the cooking process. I use crouton to help make my grocery list and it’s really helpful keep my household organized.

Very easy to use and great at importing recipes from online. I appreciate the shortcuts support so I can quickly import my existing recipes from URLs. One feature request would be more advanced search/filtering to search for recipes by multiple ingredients

Such an elegant and fun recipe app! Highly recommend :)

It’s a great app!!! But right now when I go into it it freezes. And I paid a one time fee for it I’m not asking for my money back. I just hope it gets fixed soon

I'm a Crouton Plus customer and I really appreciate the thorough library of shortcuts available on iOS. I'd really appreciate it if the same (or, at least the "Get Recipes for Date" action) was made available on macOS too so that the shortcuts I make could be used across platforms. Thanks!

Honestly it’s a phenomenal app. The features, the ease of use, the fact that I can make a one-time payment to purchase the app and share it with my family. I tell people about it all the time. Love it!

I love this app. I came from another popular app to this one because of the strength of the importing features. From a camera picture? Get out of here, no problem! Easily imported >500 recipes I already had and allows me to share with the family. Glad to support this developer.

This app has so many great features it makes planning meals on a budget so easy! The weekly planner is user friendly and all your recipes are in one place! It works with your reminders shopping list to add needed ingredients easily! Highly recommend as a busy mom of two!

Developer responded and working on issue! I have tried downloading the app and then trying to open but nothing happens. When I click on the app, it just brings me back to the main Apple Vision Pro screen. I have removed it and reinstalled it but no luck. Can someone help?

Not worth the money to upgrade. It doesn't make your cooking life any easier

This is seriously my favorite app. I love cooking and baking but hate dealing with unnecessary back stories and adds when finding a recipe. This simplifies it all and I have one place I can go to see all my recipes. Highly recommend!

I’ve downloaded about 20 similar apps, this one is by far the best for both iPhone & Mac. I have type 1 diabetes & would be helpful to see the carbs / protein / fats & fiber at the top but this is not a dealbreaker

This feature is worth the subscription

Two times I’ve chased my wife down to show her the amazing capabilities of this app. It truly solves the problem of online recipes-my favorite recipe for instance was from Betty Crocker and in 3 different phases and steps and it was a mess to organize every time I wanted to use it. This is a dream. … Then I found out the hands free features 🤯 I’m also switching over our grocery list to this app. I would like it if it could publish to a notes note that I keep with my wife and fam, but I’ll take

I had so many recipe apps before this one and they all ticked some but not all boxes. This one ticks all! Purchased the upgrade without hesitation. The developer clearly put thought and intention into this design and it shows! Also deeply appreciate the affordability. It is so refreshing to be able to buy a digital asset with a one-time fee.

My partner and I aren't good at cooking, and we especially aren't good at cooking without a plan. Crouton has been invaluable at keeping track of what dishes we actually like to eat AND cook. It's helpful to stay focused while cooking, and it helps add the exact ingredients we need for a meal to a grocery list. It's also great for importing recipes from outside sources, like websites and cookbooks. Thanks for making it!

It helps me sort the "keepers" from my pinterest board and is less distracting. Importing recipes by url is a breeze. Can use on my ipad or my laptop, so I can make a grocery list from my computer and cook in the kitchen using my laptop to read the recipe.

Saw it on Mastodon. Downloaded and tried importing some recipients from websites. Worked smoothly. Looking froward to seeing if this will be the recipe app I have been looking for…

What a terrific use of my mobile device and iPad. The app is great and the features are wonderful. The developer is super responsive and helpful too!

I can’t really add much more to what the other reviews are saying. Basically, if you were to invest in one app this should be the one. Apple should buy this company and integrate it into iOS. It’s that good.

This app is a great replacement for Paprika. AI import has been a disappointment though — it seems to take a long while and fail most times. When I have had it succeed it has incorrect quantities, steps, etc. It’s easier to just scan text or dictate it directly.

I cannot for the life of me get my crouton apps across my device sync. iCloud sync is turned on and working but for some reason there is not parity across my devices. I cannot get my iPhone crouton to upload the changes to my recipe library to my iCloud and sync with my iPad crouton app. This has been broken for a few months. Used to work when I first purchased this app.

I havent had a single issue and have found this app to make quite a difference in my monthly meal menus.

i bought the app but im dissapointed that the new update is subscription. Im guessing all future feature updates will be for subscribers only. On the bright side, thanks for letting us hide features we cant use.

This is the best recipe management app I’ve used. The developer is super responsive and just a nice guy, and has taken all my feedback and has promised to work on it. Not that there is really much critical feedback to give it, as it is such a great app. HIGHLY recommend just spending the few bucks on this to simplify your cooking life!

Such a well designed and useful app. I use it for meal-prepping, grocery lists, nutrition information, recipe sharing… pretty much my one stop shop for all things personal recipes. Kudos to the developer for not basing the entire app around a recurring subscription model as well!

I love that you can toss in a website and it pulls everything for you. I have to make a few adjustments but better than doing the whole thing. Meal planning is also great as well, very helpful as I have a hard time making sure I don't have too much to eat and go to waste.

This app has made meal planning and cooking SO easy!! I love importing recipes so I don’t have to sift through a bunch of ads and extras, and the grocery list feature saves me so much time! I love it!

Love being able to make grocery list off the meal list. Love how easy it is to add receips and share recipes. Everyone in the family can have access to be able to see what is planned and add if they want a certain side or breakfast or snack. I don't love the options for measurements when manually adding recieps, but that is minor in comparison to all the app does! Meal planning is a breeze now.

Stop looking for a recipe organizer and just download this app. It’s really incredible. You can organize your recipes by folders, share the app with your household, add notes. It does everything and I LOVE IT.

I love the app, so simple, easy to use and the paprika import worked flawlessly. Worth the in app purchase to support the developer and use the household feature. I bought the premium version but it keeps telling me that I cannot add anymore recipes. When I try to exit out the app crashes and I need to force quit. I now require to add the recipe via my phone, which is annoying.

I don’t mind paying for apps but i wish they had said this app is worthless unless you pay our subscription fee. I was looking for a simple app to put a few recipes in for easy keeping. They have great tools for transferring from print to app but on the pay tiers. The manual entry was free but, unbeknownst to me, after a few it won’t let you do that anymore. I’d do better for my purposes on the Notes app I guess.
