It’s good, but it’s a bit underwhelming that you get barely anything free

Excellent sound, continuous, blanks out noisy background. The paid version price is ridiculous at $20 per year. This would be a perfect app for a lifetime price of maybe $5

I immediately fell in love with this app. It has so many types of expected/unexpected sounds, and the sound quality is excellent. I also loved cute animations. Plus, when I saw the theme featuring the developer’s children's drawings, I couldn't help but smile ☺️💕

The sounds, mixing options, and interface are as good as it gets for this type of app, but the App Store description claims it has menu bar functionality when it currently (bafflingly) does not.

you can control the volume of the dark noise app independently of other audio apps. that feature alone makes this app indispensible and worth far more than they charge. it's also a really solid white noise app with an attractive interface and lots of customization options.

It's nice to have this app still available when the Internet goes down, as it does often here.

I am a combat veteran with PTSD and have trouble falling asleep. I’ve tried a ton of things including prescribed medications that haven’t worked consistently or for very long. But the custom sound I’ve made in the premium version of this app lulls me to sleep in a Pavlovian way. And it helps keep me asleep. I’m so, so grateful for this app. Thank you Charlie Chapman.

This app is pretty good at what it does, but has moved to a $20/yr subscription model with essentially no additional features. Why?

I like this sound more than Apple’s default background noises, and haven’t seen it available elsewhere. The pressurized sound inside and an airplane is an under appreciated stimulus I’ve come to realize. Kinda nostalgic. Good background sounds on a free app, and the straightforward user interface prevents me from overthinking the settings on an app I use to relax. This app is deserved of a Five count’em (5) star review from my pov.

I have been using this app for a while and simply love it. I really like creating my own custom blends that target my personal need.

Been using the app for nearly a year and it’s been rock solid. I sleep well , and it’s well designed and easy to use. Doesn’t get much better.

My wife and I both use this app extensively. Current favorite is a mix between spaceship and brown noise. This app is one of the best developed and supported app accross all mac and IOS platforms-- I wish more developers put as much time and care into their apps. Highly recommend. It's been so long since I bought it I don't even remember the price I paid, but it would be worth far more in value add to my work.

Long Fade uses a "spin to select hours". I believe there is a bug. The # of hours one selects changes to a rediculous setting. Therefore I deselect Long Fade. Hope this helps Apple and/or the Dark noise Developer

I love this app. It saves me from the noise pollution of the barking dogs in my neighborhood so I can focus on work. It works great on my iPhone and Mac. Custom sounds can be built.

Two things that would make custom soundscapes better. 1) the ability to pan sounds and 2) a toggle to create slow micro variations in the levels overtime adding more variety. The ability to upload your own sounds would also be cool.

Now that I have started to use the app more, I find it incredible in helping me focus.

It always works. It does what it is supposed to do. It has many different sounds (I like brown noise or the beach). It is great for working on the train or focusing at home when you need to block out outside noise. It just plain works! Get it now!

Many sounds to choose from, and can use AirPlay to play the sounds on your AirPlay capable speakers (e.g., HomePod)

I just love this app. The design is great, and I really enjoy the ability to mix my own custom "dark noises". It allows me to have background noise to focus on my tasks at hand. It is worth every penny!

Good app but it seems that the shortcut timer for automations are busted and not working.

I think this is a great app and I use it for work all the time. The main issue I have is I can hear the loops with every sound I like, which is kind of distracting to me. I wish the recordings they made were a lot longer.

I like Apple’s ambient sounds, but Dark Noise has let me make a combination of sounds that remind me of my youth. Being able to combine, mix, and adjust individual sound volumes is way cool! We’ll worth the few dollars! Just wish they’d add a crack of lightning sound. The Thunderstorm and various rain sounds do not factor the crack of close lightning. Needed for my epic sleep symphony!

I've tried many of these apps, and they are all missing key features or lacking in terms of overall functionality. Dark Noise hits all the right notes, so to speak. It's lightweight and won't drain your battery, offers deep customizability, lets you combine sounds to create custom background noises, and most importantly, the sounds it has are top-notch. I listen to a customized Thunder/Rain/Crickets sound while I work and it's perfect. This app is more than worth the price.

Great sound loops, but generally the app is too loud with my headphones one. There's an option to "Lower Volume" — it only works after enabling the setting in the preferences. If you later adjust the app's main volume bar, it "breaks" the setting and the sound is again too loud. Also, being new to the app, I wasn't aware there were 50 sounds because the UI is too minimal/unclear: The main window didn't look like it could scroll, and there was no indication that there were more sounds available.

I love this app. High quality sounds. Excellent selection. Syncing across devices. App stability. Beautiful UI. The only thing I could think to add is ambient noise. Keep up the good work.

I love the way this app works, and works across to phone and ipad too. Just wish it had more rain sounds to choose from, or an equalizer. Also, have NOT activated Unnamed Goose Mode 😂

Not only very well done but for me it works great to keep me focused and productive. It's also fun to pretend I'm working in a rain forest not an office :)

Easley the best white noise app I have ever used. Simple to use and feels native to IOS.

$19.99 for one year? $49.99 for lifetime? That is too crazy

I was on the monthly plan and my widget reverted to preselected sounds and I wasn’t able to access everything even after paying. The contact button in the app didn’t work so I canceled. Very disappointing for a good app.

The sounds are not high quality, they have. crackles and skip like scratched cd's. so distracting and dissappointing because i really love the spaceship engine sound but the crackle is annoying
