21 Positive User Reviews for Desert Golfing

Timeless, Meditative, Perfect

There is nothing but you, sand, and the ball. Was that a cloud?

Great, with one flaw

It’s a simple and pleasant game, but since it’s procedurally generated it can sometimes draw levels that are physically impossible to complete. With no options menu or reset button, you’re forced to delete and reinstall the app to start over.

My fourth download

Did you know that after the 10,000th hole, you can delete the app and download it again to go back to the beginning? This will be my fourth download. Desert golfing is a simple pleasure.

Mechanics

The simplicity doesn’t bother me. But on iPhone there literally isn’t enough room to move finger in order to create sufficient launch angle off the tee in most instances.

Transferring Saved Game

First off, this game rocks. I’ve had it for years and I still come back to it regularly. I’m at hole 3,437. But it, it’s great! On another note, this game is one reason I haven’t switched to the Pixel Fold I’ve been eyeballing. I don’t want to lose my progress! Can the devs offer any insight on how I might go about transferring the game data, even if hacky? Thanks for the great app.

My most played game

Brilliant, delectable, calming. Made it to hole 10,000 and not a single regret. Truly a masterpiece.

Perfect for podcasts

Perfect game to keep your hands and eyes occupied while listening to podcasts on a plane/train/bus

Fun game, some issues

Made it to hole 2866 and it’s not possible to complete with the game physics. I have had other tough holes that initially I saw no way to complete them, but this hold I’m in is actually impossible. No way to refresh or a menu option or anything.

Pretty good

10,000 levels, some of which seem impossible but aren’t. Got a lot of play out of this minimalist, clever game.

Still the greatest ever

The best mobile game ever made? Timeless and endless. I could keep playing forever.

Best I’m bored game of all time

No options, settings, or explanation, just the desert and a ball. I just completed the game and feel a sense of loss, it’s over? Make another!

One of the few Decent Mobile Games

Games on phones or tablets never play well, this is the exception

Dynamic Island In the Way

Simple and elegant game. Would be more phone if the dynamic island wasn’t in the way, making many of the levels difficult/impossible to tee off properly. 4 year old games still charging the some price need to account for current gen iPhone models and their technical limitations.

Can't believe it's over

After years of playing sporadically, sometimes even months in between; I've reached the end. Ihere are many reviews saying it ends at 10,000, yet for me, it ended unceremoniously at hole 11,318 after 34,600. Knowing it was the end made it hard to launch that final shot into the water. I keep closing the game and opening it again, but alas this is the end, beautiful friend.

Desert golf

Ever wanted to know what it is like to play golf in the desert in an alternate universe where you are the ball and a giant thumb god flicks you around and you take that life for granted and by the time its over you wish you were a ball again instead of a human?

Golf

It’s golfing in a desert. Five stars!

The anti mobile game mobile game

This game flys in the face of modern mobile gaming. No gotcha mechanics, no ads, not pay to play more, and no time gating. Just come and play a fun mobile game with no interruptions that can be picked up and put down in an instant. Update: The game ends on the 10,000th hole. Very much so worth the money, but it has left a hole in my heart not being able to play it anymore.

Great time killer…. Maxes out at 10,000 holes

The fact that I’ve found the maximum number of holes you can play is certainly a testament to the quality of this time killer, it’s my go-to game while listening to audiobooks or waiting for meetings to start. It doesn’t take any brain power and can be started and stopped any time. But now that I’ve it 10,000 holes it no longer works. At hole 10,001 there was no hole, just a water trap that ate my ball and no new ball shower up. 30,059 total strokes.

Too minimalistic

I appreciate the simplicity, but I wish I could skip some courses. Some courses are a huge pain and very unfair. The physics are super floaty and so it takes ages for the ball to stop rolling. There’s no “reset” button either. Eventually the game becomes loathsome to play.

For sure a time killer and addictive! 10,000 holes is max.

I played all 10,000 holes!!! Ends with one last lake shot. Which is typically how my real game goes too! :)

Excellent game

It’s simple, it’s well executed, it’s not overloaded with ads, and it’s fun. A great game to have on the phone.
