Simple and elegant game. Would be more phone if the dynamic island wasn’t in the way, making many of the levels difficult/impossible to tee off properly. 4 year old games still charging the some price need to account for current gen iPhone models and their technical limitations.
After years of playing sporadically, sometimes even months in between; I've reached the end. Ihere are many reviews saying it ends at 10,000, yet for me, it ended unceremoniously at hole 11,318 after 34,600. Knowing it was the end made it hard to launch that final shot into the water. I keep closing the game and opening it again, but alas this is the end, beautiful friend.
Ever wanted to know what it is like to play golf in the desert in an alternate universe where you are the ball and a giant thumb god flicks you around and you take that life for granted and by the time its over you wish you were a ball again instead of a human?
It’s golfing in a desert. Five stars!
This game flys in the face of modern mobile gaming. No gotcha mechanics, no ads, not pay to play more, and no time gating. Just come and play a fun mobile game with no interruptions that can be picked up and put down in an instant. Update: The game ends on the 10,000th hole. Very much so worth the money, but it has left a hole in my heart not being able to play it anymore.
The fact that I’ve found the maximum number of holes you can play is certainly a testament to the quality of this time killer, it’s my go-to game while listening to audiobooks or waiting for meetings to start. It doesn’t take any brain power and can be started and stopped any time. But now that I’ve it 10,000 holes it no longer works. At hole 10,001 there was no hole, just a water trap that ate my ball and no new ball shower up. 30,059 total strokes.
I appreciate the simplicity, but I wish I could skip some courses. Some courses are a huge pain and very unfair. The physics are super floaty and so it takes ages for the ball to stop rolling. There’s no “reset” button either. Eventually the game becomes loathsome to play.
I played all 10,000 holes!!! Ends with one last lake shot. Which is typically how my real game goes too! :)
It’s simple, it’s well executed, it’s not overloaded with ads, and it’s fun. A great game to have on the phone.
