DumbPhone: Minimal Home Screen App Reviews

I just bought this app 2 months ago, updated a couple days ago and now I’m completely blocked from using it until I pay for a monthly or annual subscription. I understand changing business pricing, not against subscriptions but immediately locking out a new user isn’t a good look.

The app no longer works with the iOS 26 update

I have enjoyed the app for a few months now. An update was announced today and now when I select and app it takes me to the Dumb Phone setup page. I hope they fix it. I have the paid version.

Anything new with the latest update? Should we expect anything?

Great, simple app with nice features, like app rotation randomization. I’ve had it for around a year now, but every few months the widget will either, stop working, or recently all my widgets got wiped clean. This is extremely frustrating to have to keep remaking all my lists.

I like the idea of the app. When it is working I really enjoy its look and feel. Despite some slight stability issues (that the developer helped me fix below), the app itself offers more customizability than any competitor, and the developer is very helpful and responsive. I believe it is the best DumbPhome app on the market.

I have been using this app for almost a year and within the last handful of months it just stopped working. I have reached out via the support email twice with emails and I’ve gotten no response back for help. I will be abandoning this app.

App randomly stops working often and the apps launcher stops launching apps. Super annoying. When it works it’s cool but frustrating when it stops doing the only thing it’s supposed to do. Especially for 10$
