Awesome Air Quality Tracker

This app is highly accurate, and super user friendly. Being an asthmatic (and living in the PNW), I have to pay attention to all the fires and smoke warnings. This app has helped me so much!! I’ve literally used it to move to safer locations indicated by the app, when surviving all these fires and the smoke that floods the area.

Not responsive since last update

For whatever reason it takes forever (>1 min) to boot up. Not a reliable source of info for me right now. Do better.

Great air quality monitor

This is one of those apps that I use every day. I check it every morning before exercising to see what the air quality is. They seem to continually update the app and make it better in time. I don’t have any complaints about the app and find it very useful and reliable

Great when it works

Add widgets

How about adding an iOS Notification Center widget to display the AQI?

Works for me

Update rate isn’t quite as fast as I would like, but once an hour is usually enough. My only complaint point is they include stations that provide incomplete measurements. We have one station that reports “green” because they’re only measuring ozone.

Easy to use

Easy to use but I wish there would be an option to get notification alerts for when the AQ is bad

Love this!

This is a very helpful app that includes forecasts for air quality. It updates every hour and is specific to your location.

Helpful, but

This app is helpful for checking air quality. The only problem is, at least for Minnesota, is that the narrated description of the forecast included from MPCA doesn’t include the date it was written. It gets confusing to figure out what day is “today” and “tomorrow” in the forecast. (It’s not updated every day, so “today” sometimes is 2 or 3 days ago.) other than that, it’s a helpful app.

Wish there were real-time alerts

I recently became very sensitive to poor air quality and can’t find any apps that will push a real time alert to my phone when the AQI gets unhealthy. I wish this app had that feature. My respiratory problem is new and I often forget to look up the AQI before going out.

Add the trending data from website version.

The government should put more money into this program to improve it! If more sensors were deployed, if the sensors could be read every 30 minutes (versus hourly) , and if the app could add the trends that are listed in the website version, that would be a significant improvement!

I want to see the concentration as well as the AQI

The display should show the concentration (in ug/m3, the standard unit) as well as the AQI. IQAir does it automatically and it makes it easier to interpret the data.

Eli

Suddenly app became totally unresponsive and useless.

Inaccurate

"Air good (32) in Sonoma" Um, not even close. Heavy smoke smell, other apps say 90-100+. Used to work well.

Where’s the Smoke?

With the new version 4 update, the smoke map is broken. It lo longer shows the smoke layers.

Map hasn’t changed in months.

I’ve referred to this app a lot with the wildfire smoke blowing over my region this summer, and for quite a while, I used the map in it as well. Now, the map is worthless. It just loads, and the regional air quality (with the blobs of color) hasn’t changed in months. The air rating on the “home page“ of the app seems accurate, but I wonder when other parts seem frozen.
