Fish Rules: Fishing App App Reviews

The app is fantastic, it gives you tons of info and all the regulations you need. But for some reason, Michigan is not supported. I manually set my location to Michigan, and it said “no location set”. I did the same for other states, and it was fine. It is just Michigan. And this is a problem, because I live in and fish mostly in Michigan. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and that didn’t work. If there was support for Michigan, it would be a 5 star.

What a great idea and it’s so helpful! I’m from Tennessee and when I come down to Florida to fish this app is invaluable for a guy like me. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. You can really tell the developers know their stuff and actually care!

Please fix the app since you had to ad ads into the app. Freezes and crashes despite deleting and redownloading. Was great app now trash with the ads update. UPDATE: Developer has fixed issues. Running smoother with ads not locking up App.

This app should have been in the ten star rating category it’s free and it’s great. I’ve been all over my state and other states and it lets me know what I can keep, size, limit, and gear. I have used it for years I think you guys should have a little donation feature, don’t get me wrong keep it free but I wouldn’t mind chipping in to your app, you’ve proven to me that this app is more of what we need in this world. Love the fish rules app. It is a must have if your fishing in Florida. - My one annoyance is that it lists the days CLOSED rather that days OPENED. It really absolutely backwards. Never have I seen a business advertise when they are closed rather than when they are opened. The app does this and you have to figure when you can fish versus making plain and straightforward. Other than this and needing more photos of species I like the app.

Absolutely needed if you’re out fishing and catch a species that you’re not accustomed to the regulations. Will keep you away from hefty fines and reassure you that you are not hurting the fish population by taking undersized/ over limit fish. Must have!

Glad I had this app today. Took my youngest out and he caught his first fish. I wasn’t familiar with it and this made it easy to figure out what species it was, ensuring we were on the right side of the regulations.

This app is a must have when I go surf fishing. It is a great resource for identifying fish and staying informed on regulations. I never go fishing without it!

Definitely a must have if you’re gonna go fishing. Easy to use and is always accurate so you never have to worry about keeping an illegal fish

I love this app. Albrey and Rick did an amazing job designing this app. They made it so simple and clear. If you have questions about anything you can email them and they will get back to you very quickly. It also tells you open or closed season and all the prohibited ways of catching these species. It’ll save you a lot of headache. Good luck !

In addition to many other services, as a pro subscriber, I can get a personal response from a PhD with the identity of the fish I catch and with links to more so I can learn about their habitat, distribution and behavior. This is all based on a photo sent via the app. Super app!!

This app is very versatile. Play around with it while your home to find features that will be very helpful on the water.

Really like this app but it may be out dated. Red drum shows I can keep one but the FWC site says none. Not keeping any but it may be misleading for others. Am I not looking at something incorrectly?

The fresh water fish line us is really missing just about everything no bass no trout no Muskie nothing the salt water side is actually good though

Love this app, but would really like an Apple Watch version where I can scroll through species with the crown while diving.

If you’re looking for an app that helps you identify fish species in the specific area you’re fishing, this is the one you’re looking for. It only took a couple minutes to learn to use and has been very helpful in determining fish species, relevant angling regulations, and even determining if a species is decent table fare! And no annoying adds noted yet.

They just put full screen ads in this app that block you from scrolling down to see the fish list to get to the fish you are looking for. I understand ads to monetize an app, but if the app isn’t functional because of the ads, it won’t monetize you at all. If they don’t fix this quickly, I will be deleting this app.

Make sure to double check local regulations. I’ve definitely noticed that the app has given me false info on certain species being open and size limits have been wrong as well on heavily regulated migratory species.
