23 Positive User Reviews for Flashcards Deluxe
Best Flashcard App out there
At first glance this is a simple flashcard app. But the granularity at which you can tweak the setting is mind boggling. It’s definitely worth taking the time to learn what all FCD can do, but if you can’t be bothered, it still a fine flashcard app.
Over a decade of use
Ernie is amazing and the app absolutely rocks. The feature set and amount of customization of (t)his app has placed it as my #1 flashcard app for over a decade. I LOVE this app. Thank you, Ernie (et al?). Flashcards are not for everything but there is definitely a place for them.
Still awesome
Simple to the point
An Excellent App
I’ve been using this app for probably seven years now on and off, and it’s incredible. You can quick study flashcards or do more longer term spaced repetition study. You can upload lists on their website and then download the flashcards on the app using a code that you create. Using this, I was able to take a PDF on my computer of the top 1000 Spanish words and then convert it into flashcards on my phone within 10 minutes. Very useful, functional, simple app with no bloated features I don’t
Still great
I thought I’d write a more recent review for this app that I’ve been using for many years. Notice how long ago people were excited about it, and it is still being maintained regularly.
Very few flash card apps support multiple sides on a card. That feature alone makes this app stand out. I check back every few years to see if anything better has come along that also has this capability; this one remains a solid choice.
Absolutely Fantstic
This app has better functionality than its better known competitors. Each card can have multiple sides and you can group them into multiple categories. It’s also actively supported. I wrote to the developer about a problem that I was having creating cards with Khmer alphabet text and they wrote back the same day with an easy to implement solution. Really glad we chose Flashcards deluxe for our study group!
Still the best
Been using this app for 10+ years and it is still rock solid, no subscriptions or micro transactions needed. I get straight to learning.
Really truly amazing
Should be more famous than it is. Way more flexibility than Quizlet or even Anka. Greatly enhancing my language learning.
Terrific Lost Language support
I looked and looked to find an app that did not take ownership of the data or control it in any way. This app is terrific on that count.
It is robust, it has many features that the other apps don't. I love the ability to study or take a quiz. I love the various repeat options such as Leitner. I love that I can share my work with my sister and we can study together. It's wonderful.
So grateful for this tool. We are part of an effort to bring back a Native California language where there were
Great for years and years!
I’ve used this app on and off since around 2011. Recently I opened it up to begin some more study and I’m again reminded how powerful and well-built this is.
Amazing features throughout the whole app, nothing compares to it. If you’re confused about something, the help files are clear and abundant. If you are really stuck, the developer is close by with a direct email.
No comparison. This is the top flashcard app.
Well worth the money
Full featured, easy to use, and easy to edit/import flashcards. Everything I could want is in this app.
Still great in 2023
Within a few minutes I had a list of Flashcards for iMovie From iPad 1. I found a list online (I used Tutorial Tactic) 2. Copied the text into the Numbers app 3. Deleted columns and rows not needed 4. Exported as Excel 5. Added a deck 6. Selected file > import
Amazing app
I use this to study a language and it’s invaluable. Highly recommended!
No WatchOS support
It would be very useful to have Flashcards on Apple Watches. Imagine you’re in a queue and have nothing better to do.
Outstanding Flashcard App! It
This is the best flashcard app I have ever used. It is completely flexible, customizable, and simply the easiest flashcard app to use. Using spreadsheets for your data sets is what sets it apart from some of the other proprietary flashcard learning systems out there. They do not have the flexibility that this app has. I can create my card sets extremely quickly and format them to exactly how I want them to look. Also, do you have countless ways to study the card sets.
I would love to see a webs
Lifesaver
This app helped me memorize all the FSA notecards. I wouldn’t have been able to pass those exams without it. The ability to add photos of notecards and use google drive to read those files was a lifesaver.
Perfect
I’ve used this app for almost a decade. It’s effective, elegant, and easy to use. I almost never give reviews but I wanted to thank the developer for this amazing program and to share the best (and also free) flashcard app!
Great simple Flashcards app
Love it but dinging a star because syncing is just a struggle for me. Tried the two options; via server and via Dropbox but neither seems to work constantly so it’s been a bit frustrating.
Best
Ive tried many over the years… this one does what others dont
Unable to increase card range
This had been a superlative app until recently. I’ve been studying German vocabulary, now in the hundreds. When I resort to cards to study and range count, I’ll put in 300, but the viewer allows for 199 only. I’m surprised and disappointed.
One request for this amazing app
could you add drag and drop function? This would make this app easier to use especially when user makes new flash card deck
Great functionality, and doesn't take your data
I am using this to support indigenous language revival. The functionality is terrific, and unlike all the other apps I checked, your data remains yours. This is very important to our tribe at the moment, as we have no native speakers.
Great gratitude! 'alšip-'ek 🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Ran into some problems
I like to use some photos on my iPad for the Flashcards. For one deck of over 70 different photos, it continually uses the same photo have to go back and start over. It’s a problem. It matters little if you delete the photo in my library after using it for a card it still keeps regenerating the same photo it didn’t seem to work.
