Flipster – Digital Magazines App Reviews

So far, I really like this app I’m not sure why it has such a low rating. I like reading the People magazine, and a few of the other fun magazines. Plus I get breaking news stories from some of the periodicals.

The covers of magazines still don’t update. But the service bug is fixed.

Magazines are one of my guilty pleasures & I love this app!

Good app in theory but ridiculously tiny font in text view makes it unusable

Constantly have to reopen app to look at magazine selection. When it works, it shows magazines from 2 months ago as the most current.

I wish this app would work because I rely on it when I travel or when I’m in need of a silly break and would like to catch up on recipes or health articles or an essay in a literary magazine. But the app rarely works and I have to remove it from my phone, download it again, etc, maybe two or three times a year. I hope the app developers will fix the bugs of this really useful magazine app..

I love getting magazines to download and read at my leisure, but the app works about once a month. Once I’ve downloaded stuff the interface is fine and it works perfectly well, but 9 out of 10 times I just get the error message “service unavailable”. Just don’t know why that is.

Love the app usually, but constant errors now. This needs an update!

This app really needs work every time I try to download magazine it takes forever. And I also don’t understand why they give you such a short amount of time to be able to read the magazines. There also is not a large selection of magazines.

Text to speech is too slow or too fast. Why only 2 speed settings? Text view is still squashed and not adjustable.

On iPhone app works as expected. On iPad, there is an excess of white space at the top of the window, and the bottom of the page is cut off. Enlarging the the page enlarges the entire window, so the white space and cutoff of bottom remain. Not sure why this is, unless the iPhone app was simply brought over to iPad without considering aspect ratios.
