12 Positive User Reviews for France 24

Anuncios molestos

Landscape mode on Apple iPad

App on iPad does not allow using in landscape mode.

Stuck in Portrait Mode

The France 24 app offers news in 4 languages which is ideal for multilingual people or those who want to improve their language skills. Unfortunately, the latest versions of the app do not allow landscape mode in iPad forcing you to rotate your iPad to view it correctly. This is a poor use of screen space because half of the area remains static in portrait mode.

Good application for following the world news

The application has many language options and live streaming for the France 24 channel I used to check the news daily through this app.

8 Negative User Reviews for France 24

Consistently un-usable on the iPad

This app was recently updated from the previous version which may or may not have loaded live feeds or content correctly. In this current version, the French have chosen to format the app to vertical only. Which iI submit is absurd for use on the iPad. Whomever is responsible for this app development should be replaced by competent developers.

New App Opening

I loved this app until their latest update. It now only opens in portrait mode and will not rotate on my devices…like DW, BBC, RT, etc… I have basically stopped using it…what shame.

Latest version no longer working

When I launch the app it tells me to download the latest version, but the App Store does not have a newer version. Often times we are unable the watch the latest news because the feed is still being processed but they do not provide access to the previous run either. I'll get my news somewhere else I suppose.

Devolved format

France24 was one of my favorite news apps but it has technically devolved into something where stories are difficult to read the distinction between content and advert difficult to discern. My iPhone SE can’t seem to halt the “rotation” of recent and popular articles, so they cannot be read. Only the day’s top stories are accessible to be. Very sad to remove this app from my phone.

Doesn’t work well on IPad

Since the latest update as pushed out it has become extremely difficult to use the app on an IPad. The app won’t rotate to portrait mode and, in landscape, you have to scroll back and forth to view the content. If this isn’t corrected, using my IPhone will be the only way to easily view the app. Very unfortunate. The content is excellent.

Ads

Why is there ads on this app? Each time I open the app an ad pops up or even have the app open and my phone sleep an ad pops up after going back on this app. There used to not have apps before why now?

Watching En Vivo is Terrible

Every time I try to watch En Vivo in landscape view, it shuts down and collapses to the bottom of the screen. No picture or sound. It’s EXTREMELY aggravating! When I watch France 24 on YouTube, I have no problem watching in landscape view, but then I have to put up with ads.

Crappy App but very good news coverage

This App has been unfriendly and unpractical for years. Nobody is listening to clients complaints, nor trying to improve it. I ended up offloading it and using the site online.
