Geofency - Time Tracking App Reviews

Just downloaded this today. Not sure how the iPhone app will be over the coming weeks and months. But the Apple Watch app crashes often and is unusable.

I work salary and this app works perfect to track how often I’m at work. If my manager ever questions when I came in, I can pull out this app!

Does exactly what it said it does.

I’m using this to track my work hours and for that, I think it works well. There are a few improvements I think would be useful but overall, it tracks location very reliably and does a good job of giving me an accurate calculation of hours on the job.

Great app works as intended, would love a map and maybe some more details or something stats and correlation related

What's so darn cool as this app is so darn sophisticated yet SO simple to use. It's there just chugging away keeping track of everything ONLY when you need that really important info. I own my company but I still like to know how my LIFE BALANCE "really is. Offered this up to my "salaried" managers to just see how their balance is. Every manager I have wanted this tool. Great way to plainly see where your priorities are! Please don't mess this up by adding 2 many bells and whistles!

Great App, but I’ve noticed that from to time, my tracked locations are not tracked.

Happy to have found this app. I do IT work and usually bill hourly so it’s important for me to be able to track the time I spend at client locations. The problem is that I hate manually tracking time. Problem solved.

It’s been a lifesaver for me many times. I don’t know why this data is so hard to get out of the native location services in the iPhone, but this app lays it all out very clearly. My ADD brain really appreciates its reliability. Did I forget to clock in or out at work last week? I can see exactly what time I got there and what time I left. What was the exact date I was in such and such place? I can see it here. Great app!

I had downloaded this app yeaaaaaars ago and then had forgotten about it. I recently started to make some shortcuts to record my location on my calendar but fortunately I rediscovered Geofency! It saved me a ton of work, is more reliable and gives more useful information. I'm really happy to see that it is still being updated. Well done devs!

I’ve been using Geofency for about 12 years now. I needed an app to be able to automatically track when I got to work for documentation purposes - also to help me track how long it took me to get to work. I only needed that for a few months but left it on my phone and have used it sense. Being able to see when I leave the house or when I get to anywhere is so useful, and it even supports automations based on location. Such a powerful tool, I love it!

Is it merely presenting the location of the phone or is it collection location data independently from the watch?

For anyone who likes to fidget/fuss with Maps and their GPS locations…you’ll love this app. My primary use is for a presence sensor with my smart home as it replaces the need to keep app location on all the time (some apps don’t like this FYI) and save a ton of battery life. Ive had it on for over 3 years continuously with no noticeable impact to battery life and increased functionality with smart home = highly highly recommended!

I’ve been using this app for years and wouldn’t be without it! The latest addition gives you the ability to manually select what locations show in live activities, fantastic! Having the current location in the live activity bubble makes it so easy to access Geofency just when you need it. Great update!

It’s been great since I’ve been using it, I recently noticed in an area with poor mobile service, a large home I’ve been working at appeared to have missing data, although I realized the system thought I was at two different locations at times…I adjusted the radius on when I turned on monitored location. Is there a way to merge the previous history of two locations into one?

I use this app to track my hours for work, so every time I go to one of my stores it tracks how long I've been there. The biggest problem that I have with this app is that it picks up moments where I'm driving past and not stepping into one of my locations. So there's a lot of entries into the database that shouldn't be there. I need a way to have like a two minute minimum for it to actually record that trip.

I’ve been using this app for many years and it continually improves. The only additional feature it needs for me is better isolation of nearby locations. The minimum monitoring radius is way too big compared to leaving everything automatic. I would use the Wi-Fi network and elevation as the way to isolate nearby addresses in towers or apartments.

It’s pretty intuitive to setup. Regions work quite well, especially for entry. I had to contact the developer as I was not getting entry/exit events for iBeacons, but that issue was resolved within 2 weeks. What I really like about this app is that can have automations based on presence, not tracking.

This app is exactly what I needed and I couldn’t have asked for something more perfect. It’s simple to use. I’m self employees and I know I lose money on time tracking because I’ve never been very good at it. I do my billing at the end of the month and I would forget to mark times I was at a client or I know I was there longer than I can remover clearly so I lose money. This fixes all of that. Great app! Trigger home automation events based on various family members location.

The app does more than just this, but the webhooks are fantastic for IoT apps. For example, I can set a monitored location with separate webhooks for arrive and leave. That can drive my presence-based automations. It’s proven to be very reliable.

The app resets to the monitor section and resets the time format to compact format. Please fix it. Thanks

Wife and I have used this for years and it works very reliably. Other similar apps seem to only work part of the time, but this detects fence each time we cross it. I can’t recommend this enough.

This app is awesome! I have a hard time keeping track of how long whatever took, or when what was… Not only will this keep track of how long I spent where, it allows manual editing of "IN / OUT" events.

It’s a pretty cool app. Helps me with submitting my time card for work. Only thing I wish it would do is tell me how long I spend at undesignated places. That way I can monitor how long I spend in traffic or things like that.

Occasional problems w ur picking up movement to new locations. But better then other location trackers apps I have used. Also I prefer the UI to other apps. Please keep improving!!

This app triggers my home automation when I leave my home radius of 1000 feet perimeter, however the arrival into the geofence radius is unreliable. It says I arrive when I’m at the garage door versus when I enter the geofence radius. I need it to work properly for my home automation. Reviews say it is accurate but not for me.😞

The app should open up with instructions on how to set up the app seeing I paid $4.99??
