Great Smoky Mountains GyPSy App Reviews

When we plan a trip to any National Park, we always check if there is a GyPSy guide available. Every guide we’ve used has been incredibly invaluable and we learn so much more than just from books. The guide never gives his name so my family have affectionately named him, Bob. As in, “oh Bob” (when he makes a “dad” joke). In the Great Smoky guide, we learned so much about the history of the park, the area, and the residents...plus, we heard “Bob” sing! Don’t hesitate...if you are going to any NP

Makes your road trip educational and fun. A must have. It is like having a tour guide in your own car.

Perfect for when the interpretive exhibits were closed for social distancing. Timing was excellent and the narrator was so entertaining without taking away from the views!

We downloaded this on Day 2 of our 3 day trip... worth every penny! There’s more information in this ONE tour guide than we could put together from four tour books! Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t replace planning ahead, but this elevated our experience in ways we couldn’t possibly have planned, or hoped, for.

Just returned from the Smoky Mountains, this app was very useful! We enjoyed the direction and educational narration very much. I would like to note that Cade’s Cove is closed all day on Wednesday’s though, not open at 10am like the app mentions.

Overall pretty good. I had expected the guide to talk pretty much non stop. Might be a good idea for the guide to mention in the audio test that one the tour starts there will be quiet times between the commentary. Great for a solo traveler and I would definitely buy another tour for another park. I like how the comments synch up with the locations. There was one spot where one could really see the low fluffy clouds in the morning. I would recommend adding this info to the tour before reach

Just returned from Great Smoky National Park. Spent 5 days inside the park and loved having the gypsy guide along. We used the Yellowstone guide last year and loved it so definitely knew I wanted to use it again this year with GSNP. We call him George and love “George” guiding us around and giving us information and history. He always gets us to stop several places we would have never know. About otherwise. This was our first GyPSy tour and we loved it. This is the app I’ve been looking for: we could drive around the national park and learn about park history, wildlife tips, and get recommendations for everything from easy walks to hard day hikes! Totally worth the 9.99–and this is from someone on a student‘a budget!! We can’t wait to continue exploring the US National Parks with GyPSy!

This is the second Gypsy guide we have used. It’s like having your own personal tour guide and it’s so easy to use. We can’t wait to use it again.

Love this app! Very informative! Tells you information that is right ahead so you can pull off and take pictures or go on a hike!

I would have paid twice the cost! This app made our trip to the smokies. Gypsy was informative and entertaining. Now come out with one for each of the national parks. I would purchase more of them.
