Missing critical features

It’s OK. I write my stuff on the computer and then I use the app to teach. This app is desperately missing the ability to retain your audio files that you attach on the desktop version so you can play along to the actual song. MIDI is what it is, but it sounds awful.

Ok

Please add finer speed controls for practice. I cannot always jump from playing something at 40% speed to 50% easily. I do like guitar pro and prefer it to other things but yeah.

May not have everything but have most of the thing

I have been using this for a while a has been of good use for playing tabs and learning some riffs

iOS Editing

It would be nice to be able to edit, Tabs.

Really wish this app would get an update

Would love to see more speed options and a dark mode

Best guitar/music tool ever

My #1 choice for studying guitar and music, I’ve been using it for over 10 yrs, wonderful app. Only suggestion I have is to please make an option to enlarge the guitar fretboard window and implement a full screen toggle, that would be awesome.

Review

This has been so helpful.. Only reason four stars, is there’s always room to improve & grow.. Thank you

Cannot create more than one track

If you could create multiple tracks from iPad this would be a 5 star app, you can only open multiple tracks. You would have to create it in your PC and then open it on the iPad in order to do this right now.

Guitar Pro for iPad

Great app. Use it constantly as I struggle learning how to play guitar. Keep up the great work.

Great companion to Guitar Pro

This is a really helpful app. I’m a drummer and song writer and this app makes it easier to write a song and then practice the drum parts at various speeds to learn them. One complaint I have though - the app lets you write out music “notes” which looks really useful for capturing riffs etc. Why is there no drum capability here though? It would be great to be able to quickly jot down a drum beat in the phone when I’m at my drum kit. Otherwise this is a great app!

Best guitar learning tool ever!

One of the best guitar apps ever! It crashes on the iPad infinitely but it’s worth restarting infinitely. Maybe the new version is iPad worthy?

Needs multi track editing to be perfect

I love this app. Have it on my computer and phone. I love sending myself projects to work on. I love that on my computer I can make multi track songs and send them to myself. The one thing this app NEEDS for a perfect rating is the ability to create and edit multi tracks on the mobile version.

Awesome

This is a great practice tool for on the couch, on vacation, or otherwise away from my desktop. I do wish it had a few more little features like speed trainer, it’s a great companion to the full desktop version and I use it every day.

Too bad you can’t edit

The windows version outshines this. Main use is just as digital sheet music.

It works

It works for me on my iPhone, I like it, for sure. But considering I paid for this app, I wish under the settings there would be an option to change the entire guitar key flat or sharp for either self-tabulated or purchased pro tab files. Sometimes I only want to play songs with string tuning of Eb on my standard-tuned guitar or I decide to try playing back my tabs in a different key. And don’t tell me to learn my modes!! It’s not asking for much, pweeease

Needs work

I have guitar pro 8 for windows and Mac, this software works fantastic. The iOS version is not consistent in speed and also does not accurately represents the tabs. I’ve had notes to be in the display to be garbage especially around showing harmonics or other notes tightly together. I also have notes that it’s hard to tell if the notes are in vertical alignment or not.

The iPad version is a good practice tool

I like this product but one problem for me is that the fingerings placed in GP 8 do not transfer to the iPad file. If this is an error please let me know as having the fingering information is really helpful. Perhaps there is a way to do this but I haven’t discovered how. Thank you

Gutiar pro

I’m a student and my guitar teacher sends me my guitar lessons on this app but he payed 70 bucks just for me and not his students so I kinda think the teacher version should be cheaper but you can have whatever and this has help me a lot

3 Negative User Reviews for Guitar Pro

Just a Player

I want to love the app, but the UI/UX on mobile is awful, not discoverable, and frankly deceptive. There is a Favorite’s, and History, but a .gp file I open on iCloud neither appears in History after it is opened, but maddingly must be reopened manually (several directories) each time, as there is no way to add it to Favorites!!!! I want to throw it out the window. AND WORSE, there is no way to contact the Developer on their site or through the iOS or Desktop App.

Okay

Tempo can be changed via slider top left. Interface could be better

Purposefully kneecapped

Version 2.0 was previewed at NAMM, 9 months ago, but is not yet available here on the App Store. It has features that should never have been REMOVED from the iPad version, and the only reason I paid for this app in the first place is because it was supposed to be updated soon. 1.11.x also doesn’t sync folders like the desktop version, so I have to manually add songs to the app, which is objectively stupid.
