I’ve been a Ham since May 1961 and passed my General license at the next Memphis Hamfest. I was unable to pass the 20 wpm code test to become an Extra, so when the FCC offered the Advanced license I took that and passed and have held that for 30 years. I was looking around for iPhone study apps and yours got high reviews. In less than 3 weeks using this app I was scoring 90% on the practice tests and decided I was ready and took the test and passed at 88%. I couldn’t say enough good things

I mean literally, literally. I would NOT have passed my Amateur Extra without HamStudy.org. I studied each subsection until 90% proficient then started taking practice exams. After passing 4 practice exams in a row, I signed up for an online exam using HamStudy.org’s “Sign Up For an Exam” feature and passed!!

I’ve been away from the hobby for forty years. Could never master code so I was stuck at the tech level. Yes I passed the Ham test for General. The app reviews the ENTIRE question pool, as opposed to only random 35 question samples in practise exams. This is a much more comprehensive approach than practice exams which test only 11 % of the question pool. Use is fast and direct with immediate feedback. This is simply the best most efficient way to study for any class license. Period. I just aced my general thanks to this app and when I took my technician, I only got one question wrong. I cannot recommend this method enough.

Best way to study for the exam for me.

I used this app for an hour or two each day for about a week, and I passed the Technician, General, and Extra in one session.

This app is exactly what you need to prepare for your exams. I had a perfect result on the Technician after 20-30 mins a day for a week. One of my examiners: “Did you happen to study using HamStudy? If so you’ll be fine.”

This is I would say the best visual learning way to learn ham radio and the best way to study.

I began studying for general and in one week and making 100s. I am now beginning to study the amateur extra material. I actually have hope that before the exam time I may be able to upgrade all the way to extra because of how effective this method is.

I'm so excited to get my new ham radio license!

A year ago I used HamStudy to get my Technician/General (after holding a Novice license since 1970). This month HamStudy helped me pass my Amateur Extra class ticket (96%). The study features of the app were a good match for the way I think and process information (personality type), not to mention boosting my aging memory! I totally recommend HamStudy!

I bought this app and the ham radio prep, but I ended up using this app way more to study for my tests.

I used the app both on my iPhone and MacBook Air (Apple Silicon) and it worked great. One purchase allows use on both devices. I used the app to study for the Extra exam and am very pleased with how well prepared I was. Passed with flying colors. The flash card training and the algorithm used to present questions (with explanations) you missed over and over until your aptitude increases is fantastic. I obtained my general class and extra class licenses with this app! This is all you need! Don’t fall for all of the books that go over the questions along with all the wrong answers! Get this for free, buy the app itself for your mobile device, and you are golden!

The recent changes were annoying. I prefer the form that I was using up until about last week.

A wicked good way to study for your ham licenses, cannot recommended more highly!

I tried a few and they were either expensive or had less features. The most important feature is to be quized on sections you missed and questions you missedduring practice. This app keeps track. It also can be fully offline and sync with the web site.

Our Ham Club VEC teacher told us about the app. I had the app on my phone and iPad so I could study often, and anywhere. Passed exam last night! First time!

I spent a week studying for the Technician Exam and a week studying for the General Exam with this app. Took both in the same sitting and passed both with a 34/35. Couldn’t have done it without it. Just go through the study section first to ensure you see all questions. Then start taking tests until you are comfortable with them.

Fantastic app that exceeded my expectations. Whoever made this knew what they were doing when it came to UI/UX. Seems like each time I want a feature it exists and is accessible and intuitive to use. Which is… very satisfying. To name a few examples: options for focusing the questions being asked in study mode, feedback on weak spots after a practice exam, detailed explanations are available after answering questions (whether answered correctly or not). I'm studying for my general using this app. I was very frustrated inn the beginning that I was missing questions left and right. After a little more than a week of an hour a day, I must've hit a critical mass of questions and everything clicked. Currently getting 100%'s on practice exams. Pro tip: use the practice exams to gage your progress but focus your energy on the study questions. You get instant feedback which helps much more than the exam.

I passed all 3 exams in one sitting thanks, in large part, to this app. When you miss a question it will repeat it a few questions down the list until you get it. Invaluable study tool.

Used this to study for my extra class. Studied hard for a few months and was able to pass my test today no problem. Only missed 2 questions, one was my fault for not paying attention (answer was very similar to the wrong answer). Best 3 dollars I ever spent!!! Thank you for putting this together. Wish this was as around 30 years ago when I first became a ham at 13 years old.

I can’t praise this app enough. It took me through all three US license levels; Tech, General, and Extra studying very intermittently. General to Extra took about 6 days studying about 2hrs a day. Get this app, forego any other books or lessons or YouTube / ARRL memberships…. It’s all you need.

Three months ago at an intro to Ham Radio class HamStudy.org was recommended by Steve Graves the instructor. After utilizing it everyday for 1 to 2 hours I scored 35/35 on Tech license one month later, 33/35 on General license 2 months later, and 44/50 on Extra license yesterday (2-3-2024).
