8 Positive User Reviews for HemocyTap

Good app, but would like a bit more.

I use this to count yeast for brewing. I only use the center square for counting. I would love to be able to pick the little squares inside of that center square to track my counts. Overall th app works great and I prefer over a manual counter.

Neat idea, not for all applications

Maybe this is brewer specific. I tried using it to count granulated leucocytes in a veterinary lab and it fell short. I could not make it register all 9 primary squares. It doesn't have an alarm (that I could find) to allert you when you've hit a specified number of cells, In my case I want to know when I've hit 100 without having to look up from the scope. I don't need the dead cell counter but it is usefull for counting the cells on the grid on the other side of the slide. I did find it a goo

Hematology friendly??

I would love to be able to use this in my department, however I would need to be able to change the counting squares to 9. Would it be possible to allow the user to count all 9 squares? Additionally, allowing the user to change the name of the counting buttons from live and dead to wbc and rbc would be nice too.

Dilution calculation bug

There seems to be a bug when calculating live cell density from total cell count and viability above a certain dilution. At 1:100 the live cell density is accurate. On the same count it is inaccurate at 1:500 and 1:1000. Love the app otherwise.

There is room for improvement but I like it

I use it to count algae cells. It works. Saves me a bit of time.

Love it

I’ve been using this app for a few years now. More so now. It is very simple, but has all the features. And the best thing is you can save your cell counts, and make different folders for them. Makes it easy to go back if you need to.

Perfect for cell culture

This app is perfect for cell culture experiments. It shows you perfect viability, total number of cells used, allows you to modify the dilution factor used and most importantly, count your cells based on distinct sound between live and dead. It has helped me a lot during my experiments. It also has different modes to plot the growth of your cells and save your work and export it. An amazing little app and well worth the money.

Could be super time saving!

It needs to be a bit more customizable for what you count (e.g. able to count only one chamber) but then it will be AWESOME. I hope they make changes soon!
