very great vpn but why charge for freemium service I need the old version back

I have no problem with the ad system but most of the time I can't connect to servers and even if the servers connect they are extremely slow.Do you have any suggestions for how to fix this problem?

as the title says, among my school, betternet vpn was the go-to until it gave you only 15 minutes of vpn without an ad, this functions more smoothly and consistently and lasts all day
