The app is so easy to use. I love the convenience of carrying an iPad as opposed to papers.
This is a very nice app, I enjoyed it to read documentations and add notes with my iPad. The integration with online storage is nice too. I will update the review with more detail after I used it for a bit longer. There are a couple small suggestions already 1. I organize things on dropbox, and the folder is a few levels down from the root. At the moment it is not clear how to add the folder into a more easily accessible place (now I need to click through it every time which takes ~1 minute
Other than that, it’s great
I’ve used this app for years and love it… when it works. Periodically, though, it glitches and I end up losing hours of editing work. This happens when I open a Word document on my iPad and write on it but then somehow the PDF file it saves is corrupted and I can’t open it with any application on any platform. I sync iAnnotate with DropBox and even going to version history is a dead end. I’m on the market for a new go-to PDF mark-up app because this has happened so frequently.
Pencil pro squeeze gesture to bring up eraser seems to be missing.
The app is missing Apple Pencil Pro squeeze gestures. Other than that, it is good. IAnnotate would be great if it could take full advantage of the squeeze gesture for the pencil pro.
Do you have an app you just use, you depend on it to work right every time, you launch it and it works as advertised? This app is mine. I receive a lot of questionnaires and I want them nice and neat when I’m done filling them out, this does it with me. I’ve used it for years, when for example a car maker makes a PDF of the manuals. I download into iAnnotate to do word searches. It finds every instance, puts them in a clickable list. The one time I emailed support with a question they responded
Having tried Books, Acrobat and others, none match the utility of this app. Links to my various clouds and just does everything I need well at a non-subscription, value price. Best in class IMO.
I love this app.
Great annotation features. However, it doesn’t let you simply open a PDF file — it has to copy the file into its own special area before you can work on it. This means it doesn’t play well with other apps. If you work on a file in iAnnotate and later want to open it in another app you won’t see any of the highlights because it’s not the same file. I looked in settings, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to change this behavior. Only had it for a couple of hours before regretting that I had s
Finally fixed the search glitch! Back to being my “go to”! You get all the annotation with a one time deal. No having to pay a subscription!
Great consistent app but missing 1 key feature - being able to open a website and pdf the page. Some websites can’t be exported correctly from Safari. PDF Expert can do this but I prefer iAnnotate.
Have it for years for PDF docs and ebooks
With my iPad and the Apple Pencil, annotating is sooo much easier than with Adobe and those types of editing/annotating software. I’d highly recommend this.
Great program. Have used it for 10 years in flight training. Could not have been as effective without it. Much better than BadReader
I use this extensively for my trial work and for signing documents daily
Just starting out and finding this app very user-friendly.Stephanie
One of the best pdf editor I have used for years. As a recommendation, please add turn to erasing mode when double tap Apple Pencil 2 during marking pdfs
I love using this to mark up my scripts for work! The multiple colors and the straight line tool are great! I would LOVE if there was an update that would make double tapping on an Apple Pencil switch writing utensils, similar to how the native Apple notes app works.
One of my biggest pet peeves when using this app is that I cannot scroll with one finger while I an annotating with the Apple Pencil. While using the pencil or pen tools, I cannot scroll down a document without having to remember to use two fingers and it gets extremely annoying. Please make this a setting.
Maybe I’m not using it correctly, but it would be nice if my comment could encompass a group of text. Now I have to highlight and then add a comment, which shows up as two separate things when I export it. I’d like the comment to be along with the part I highlighted, if possible.
I Love to use IAnnotate to fill and sign PDF forms I used to print fill and scan to send back. It’s also the perfect APP to highlight articles I want to ready and save back on my files
Where is the eraser button? And why must it be used only on what you just write. That’s a bit annoying. Other than that, it’s great.
Finally fixed the search glitch! Back to being my “go to”! You get all the annotation with a one time deal. No having to pay a subscription!
Still exit the app automatically for no reason after update to v4.8.2. Please fix it ASAP
I am just learning how to use this app, but the video and help on the website makes it very easy. I plan on using in app for years to come.
I think the app is great, but I have difficulty doing basic things because there is not a manual or explanation of how to make it work.
Wonderful app. Allows me to have hundred of articles and pdfs with me at all times. I can annotate and write comments where I want. Got me through my doctorate.
Great app!! Am using this app from almost 10 years since I was in med school until now, you have every tool you need for studying.
When I switched to the iPad Air iAnnotate started to not open PDFs. All that would come up is a checker board screen. On rare occasions a newly upload article will open. Prior to this I absolutely LOVED this app. Would you all please check this out?
Is when you turn your work over and only the annotation is there and the pre-print from the work order or existing print does not show up. Tony Frigh
Just upgraded to iannotate for from and older 3 version. Is there a way to transfer all of my data over? It’s like years and years of stuff
I don’t know what I would do without this app!
Pros: easy to open PDFs in box; no need to import and export. Cons: the eraser in GoodNotes is way better. New user here, so my opinions may evolve with further use.
It’s the one thing I feel like is missing.
OCR UPDATE NEEDED - The SCAN option needs OCR Thanks
So much better than acrobat, I almost never use acrobat for anything anymore. OCR would be huge, to be able to convert then full text search something.
Take a little getting used to the interface but once you learn it, it helps you to make notes and do some editing
I love that you can add audio to your notes! Works great with Apple Pencil
Ancient user interface. No new updates for over 3 months. Constantly having problem turning pages in “single page mode.”
This Who is the only time I’ve spent money on an app from my iPad. This was money well spent. I use it every Sunday and Wednesday for my sermons it is so convenient to be able to mark up my message and highlight. It’s an awesome app.
I’ve had this app for years, but now that I am getting around to using it, I am tickled with it’s feature set.
A brilliant programme but it struggles to work with Excel sheets. Love the ease it gives to make annotations. Should makes it such that it cannot store signatures and recognise names.
Love this program. It is essential for me while doing my PhD work
1 Negative User Reviews for IAnnotate 4 PDFs & more
For over a year now, every document I have on the iAnnotate app on iPad has an error message saying “there was an error saving document. Please check internet connection.” This happens whether I have a great connection to Wi-Fi, or if I’m on cellular. Therefore, I cannot close any document that has been opened because the program thinks it is not saved. Furthermore, I’ve tried the ‘save to’ option, but it only gives me the option save to Box, and fails not only to let me choose what Box folder,
