Works with a FT-991 over USB

I recently purchased this. With some setting changes on my FT-991 via USB, I have been able to receive and transmit FT8 signals and had a successful QSO. I also see the reporting on PSK reporter. The interface is workable, it takes a little to get used to, but is working. I think because there’s not as many options as compared to a full computer with keyboard. But, as a portable device, this is a good and viable option.

Decent application - couple minor nits

The program works very well and is very intuitive. A couple things that would make it almost perfect - first, fix the option to export only QSOs since the last export. It exports everything all the time. Second, add the option for station ID and Operator. Right now, if I operate with a club call sign, I have to manually edit the ADIF to indicate that I was the OP. Third, add the option to add a park number to the export. The MY SIG INFO field gets POTA, but again has to be edited to add in

Good and simple program. But…

I really love this, but the exporting of the log does not really work. The export since last export still exports the entire log and you can select specific contacts to export. Fixing that would make this app PERFECT!

Background colors

I have been using iftx for s year now and really like it for SOTA. One issue I have is I sm red-green colorblind and struggle with deciding id a CQ call is a dup or not. Thanks for a very useful app.

Lost Contact, can’t reconnect

If a contact is lost due to bad conditions or a time out it is not possible to reconnect again until the station calls CQ.

Love this app

Being new to FT8 this app was easy Just wish it had an option to call different CQ for POTA or QSO parties that would make it more better but love the app and for what it does . Super happy

Doesn’t activate PTT

Tried on my FT991 and kenwood ts690 with digirig doesn’t activate PTT absolutely no instructions whatsoever on how to use with these radios. Update: set your ft991a vox input to data and vox on F M-list on menu then it will work.

Where is the help manual?

I cannot find the manual as shown in the screen grabs.

ADI File Import Needed

This app works great. Use with Icom-7300, Signalink, and Ipad. This setup replaces HRD and PC. iFTx has no import capability so can’t use it for my master logbook which contains 8,500 contacts. Ham-Toolbox contains my master logbook. With this setup, iFTx can’t “see” which contacts I have already worked. ADI file import function would really be a plus for a really great product!

Works kinda

App works in a basic sense, but needs basic CAT to trigger the PTT for RX. A USB-C cable betewwen the iPad and Xiegu x6200 results in audio going back and forth but you have to trigger the PTT manually. Less than ideal. One of the advantages of radios like this is the built in sound card and USB-C data flow and control. It doesn't have VOX so we're out of luck that way. Note that you can acoustically couple the iPad to the radio by simply setting the two near each other. The iPad decides the sou

A great Start

This App is off to a great start but many of us have been struggling to figure out how to select the iPad serial port for audio input and output. It seems to default to the iPads microphone and speaker rather than the lightning connector.

So far so good

I like the program so far. Any chance you can add a free-message option? Or maybe JS8?

Purely portable ft8

Within 30 minutes of getting my cables I was making contacts using this app, a few generic cables and my tx500/antenna. Very cool de NT3S

ft8

Can this application connect to the Bluetooth of the radio via iPhone and transmit via FT8 mode?

Holy cow!

This app is miraculous. I was typing in my Callsign and grid, with my X-6100 nearby, volume down extremely low. When I closed the configuration window I found it had been scribbling the whisper-quiet screeches in the background and copying them perfectly. Incredible!
