iKanji - Learn Japanese Kanji App Reviews

App needs to be updated. The speak feature to hear the pronunciation of kanji no longer works.

Probably the best kanji app to keep from getting bored that I’ve ever seen. However, the stroke order animation speeds up every time you move to the next kanji. 5 or 6 kanji in the animated stroke order is flashing so quickly that nothing can be learned from it. The old way of simply putting a picture with numbers beside each stroke would have been better. IOS 14.

Almost flawless app. One thing that might be cool to add is the ability to tap on another of the characters in the example compounds and have it take the user to that character's information.

This is a fun and addictive app for learning Kanji.

I have 7 kanji-learning programs. This one is by far the best.

I have iKanji for my computer, so I know essentially what this app will do, but iKanji Touch keeps freezing after a minute or so of use. So, wait for a patch before buying. I'll update my review once a patch comes out.

This app is perfect, however, I do wish had compound stroke order quizzes and the stroke orders for the harder kanji. I use kotoba for that.

Overall the app is good. Stroke order recognition is *pitiful* however. In many cases I have done the right order but the app didn't recognize it because the finger wasn't aligned almost pixel-perfect with the center of the recognition circle.

This app is a fantastic app for learning written Japanese. I have experienced a few crashes, but it's not consistently reproduced. I hope someday the developer makes a version with a native speaker audio.

I would like the option to learn kanji by radicals instead of JLPT or school grades. So I hope for this feature. Until then three stars. ⭐⭐⭐

I tried quite a few Kanji study apps and found this one to be the best. Well organized and covers both initial learning and test based reinforcement of reading, writing, and pronunciation.

This is a great app for learning and practicing kanji! Perfect on the go or during downtime on your daily commute. The lessons are very helpful and the app is fast and well designed! I totally recommend it!

I have downloaded at least 5 or 6 different apps and I have to say that this one is definitely the best. I also use the Mac OS X app and I hope to be able to test the iPad version soon! Totally worth it.

I have been using this app daily for more than 5 years. It has continued to motivate me to study kanji even during busy periods in my life. I highly recommend this app.

I Love this app I really do, it's the best app out there, but I'd love to get the function of the japanese meaning, like if it's 描 then you can test your knowledge like ねこ and not to test all the readings.

I love this app. Very thorough. My only wish is that there was a section for strictly writing practice and stroke order, like in the iKana app.

This app is great for learning kanji! A problem I have personally is that I often mix up the kanjis with the same radical, so a possible improvement could be being able to access kanjis who are group together based on its radical.

Great app! Has all aspects of learning - different readings, writing and stroke order, compounds, meaning, etc. Nice training mode using spaced repetition technique. Has useful separation for N5-N1 levels and school grades. Recommend!

This is my favorite kanji study app. Clean, easy to use and highly customizable, this has everything I need for study. The custom study lists also let me target study for specific textbooks which has saved me mountains of time.

I love this App. I have had it for over ten years and it is the best time killer. I use it to most to learn kanji characters and the stroke orders, as well as vocabulary. Great supplement to anyone looking to study Japanese.
