IP Scanner Ultra App Reviews

Have used the tool for years now - it is my goto Mac OS tool for device discovery on a network.

Using this on an older MacBook Pro but its struggling - fan on high and task monitor is showing the cpu at 181% just for IP Scanner Ultra - Seems rather intense for something the is just running probes - Features are nice and its an easy piece of software to use

The data is some times inacurate. No alerts, seems to sample slow.

IP Scanner Ultra is a Very Handy utility, I use it every day.

Only App I have ever purchased. Countless times this app has helped with work.

I use this as my goto scanner for the last 4 years on many networks. reliable doesn't crash worth it

I have a smart home and sometimes devices get lost. I try to hard code an ip address for every device, but sometimes when they update or if I add a new device they “get lost”. I use IP scanner to scan the entire network when things get lost or if the network is very slow. I have several cameras and raspberry pi devices that I need to connect from my computer. There is no other easy way than opening this app and finding the IP address.

As an IT professional this software was one of the best pieces of software I came across when I made the jump from a dual boot Linux/Windows PC to a MacBook. Being able to run this software and get notifications any time another device connects to the network is extremely helpful for me. It would be great to have a widget version of this app that I can just pin to a wall somewhere!

Used to be the best. Now it is not really usable on MacOS. It doesn't do anything like attempting to probe/ping every IP, instead it relies on reading the OS arp table to find the IP addresses. This is fast, but unfortunately, unless your device has had reason to contact all the devices on your network, it is an incomplete list. I used to recommend this to everyone. Now on the search for one that actually works...
