31 Positive User Reviews for ISS Detector
I’ve been using the free version of this app for several years. Very easy to use. I haven’t experienced any hiccups with ISS Detector. It lets me know when the ISS will pass over my area & where to find it. I watch it most nights when it’s visible. I’ve also seen the Chinese space station. If you haven’t seen a ISS flyover before, it’s a humbling experience you won’t want to miss.
Loved the app but couldn’t find my satellite in the catalogs. Asked the developer to add it and was done that day!
Hey Derk, good morning! I updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 18 yesterday. ISS Detector opens just fine to the main screen, and I can access the settings menu and buy packs, but whenever I tap on one of the satellites on the main screen, it opens and then the app immediately crashes. I've tried restarting my iPhone and even uninstalling and reinstalling ISS Detector, but the same issue keeps happening. Unfortunately, I can't use the app after updating to iOS 18. Thanks for your help! Cheers!
Great app but why does it keep forgetting all my satellites causing me to have to reinstall?
A good app, very useful when it works, but it inexplicably shows no passes sometimes. Not an internet access issue—seemingly at random it removes all upcoming passes from the main page. Usually this issue resolves itself after a day or two.
Love the app, it’s fantastic in all ways. One caveat, previously when you clicked on a “sighting” and entered the “radar” mode, if you pressed and held, labels for everything currently in the sky would appear. This stopped happening at some point over the last 2 years. Don’t know exactly when but would love for this feature to be re added. It greatly reduced how much I used this application and the ease of information it provided. None the less, 5 stars great app.
Cool intuitive app ☝️😎
This is a great app for anyone wanting to track satellites and the ISS, but it’s especially great for amateur radio. It’s possible to filter the list down to the sats you want to track, and then when a pass is happening you can track it in AR while having the frequency (with Doppler shift calculation!) on a single screen. It’s full featured and very easy to use, plus very affordable with no subscription.
I’m running the latest version on an iPhone 12 and iOS 17.0.2. The predictions are generally very reliable. However, the functionality for accessing Calendars has been broken for me for some time. There is no setting in the app’s Settings -> ISS Detector menu and there is no entry for ISS Detector in Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Calendars. The dev’s website lists no contact address so I don’t know what to do other than hope the dev sees this.
You guys are weird that it stopped loading the satellite list after the last iPhone update? Thanks for fixing so quick.
Updated…. The developer is very responsive and has corrected the bug that was causing the problem!! Great app, I highly recommend The app will not load amateur radio satellite info after the most recent update.
The Compass has gone wonky
The app is great
Simple, yet Awesome.
Love this app, well developed, feature rich. Highly recommend. But, how often is the HAM satellite info updated? I ask because I use some web based sites that list many additional HAM satellites that re not listed in this app. I would email developer directly but have no contact info…Thank you,
Well-designed effortlessly gives you a unexpected nightly thrill.. thank you
Great App. I love it. Use it all the time. I recommend this App to everyone.
Excellent information but the Earth camera does not point towards the earth ..
I love this app but it keeps closing. Very frustrating! Is there a fix for this?
Quick response from developer. Keep up the good work.
Great App, the wife and I have been enjoying watching ISS and Hubble fly over. Any chance of adding iridium flares to the list?
I used this app and its paid extensions when I had Android, and I am soooo glad it’s now on iPhone. There is something reassuring about seeing the ISS fly over that gives you hope for the future of humankind.
I loved the s app. Helped me to spot the station in a second whole o was confused which direction to look at.
Very accurate and precise about location and timing. Used it for awhile. Made it a nightly thing to watch the ISS or other satellites
Please add a do-not-disturb feature! Many passes happen early in the morning. I’ve had to keep notifications for this app turned off because of this. Otherwise this is hands down the best satellite tracker available!
Hi, I purchased the combo package but can’t seem to see any information on other satellites. This only shows the ISS passes. How can I see the rest of them?
As a person who has random info all the time I want some space fun facts to add to the mix
I use it to track amateur radio satellites. I would give it 5 stars but sometimes it won’t load.
It was working fine until a few days ago. Suddenly started to have issues I reset my phone an it worked, now won’t even get my location. I like this app a lot but now really needs to be fixed.
I have used this app for years. Pro is worth it! I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay for this all over after I switched from an Android to an apple phone. What gives? Still love this app!

This app is great. Except that it only works when first installed. The next time you open the app it won’t load. I have to delete the app and reinstall it every single time I want to use it. There must be some sort of bug that needs to be fixed. if it wasn’t for that, I would give it a five star review.
