GoTenna by no Meshtastic? Why? Useless to me with mesh integration. I’m a HAM but jeeze… 10/10 stars wouldn recommend
We love the app first off but it would be nice you guys release a firmware update update for the use of plugins Especially for MESHTASTIC for iPhone why does android get all the ATAK functions and we are left out on the side lines. Please hook it up even if it’s a one time purchase of $1.99 to permanently unlock Plugins in ITAK especially the Meshtastic plugin Thanks again
So the app has improved since the last time I looked at it. Pretty good honestly.. but.. Improvements: -Let me delete and actually edit the tool bar Range tool doesn’t display the bearing and it is also in true vs magnetic. Can we adjust this? Is this product still getting improvements or trying to find funding.
It works on ATAK, WinTAK, and VLC, but the same link does not work on iTAK.
This is a great app for work and traveling while in the military. We use it to build out training and connect people. Side note: App is crashing trying to export packages. Please help!
iTAK is a fantastic app. It’s easy to use, fairly intuitive. My only real problem with it is that for some reason, GRG does not work & the ability to call a casevac isn’t there. That’s not the end of the world for most people, but it is a feature I’d like to see. However, the core functions are present and work really well. The only problems you’ll have is with your server.
The indoor mapping is not functioning correctly. When I go to place the phone on the “red line” it automatically shuts me out of the app.
Great app when it’s working properly has several paths where it will crash. For example trying to upload a data package which contains a local file seems to make the app crash 10/10 times.
Does “Enable Mesh Network Mode” cause iTAK broadcast CoT events via UDP?
iTAK has a lot of potential, but there needs to be more updates to fix the bugs. Can’t connect via mesh network, app crashes when sharing packages, etc.
This is desperately missing support for Meshtastic and LORA devices.
Kudos to the TAK Product Center! My Community Emergency Response Team would benefit greatly from iTAK. However, we operate in areas that lack cellular and wi-fi networks. While ATAK on Android can use Meshtastic to overcome this, iTAK on iPhone/iPad still cannot. As an iPhone and Apple Watch user, iTAK with Meshtastic support would be awesome for me any many of my CERT members. If possible, please prioritize this enhancement. Thanks!
Worked great, then wouldn't let me open it, so i tried to delete it and redownload it, but now it won't let me download it
When I’m at the dispatch station and I sent someone a message, they do not get a notification, this app says to go into notifications and modify I check, but it does not appear to be in the notification section of the iPhone. Update: uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the issue
Works well for my team when hooked to the server. Needs to allow for integration of Meshtastic, beartooth, goTenna to really be useful.
Nice looking app and seems to have the basic functionality in line but would definitely benefit from tx/rx capabilities through Meshtastic or other open source devices like ATAK does. It’s a bummer to have to keep an android phone around and charged just to have full TAK functionality
I’ve been following this project for a while. There have been leaps & bounds. While there is still some to be desired with iTAK. It is a great option & allows compatibility with the TAK servers. I would like to see this become as fully capable as ATAK some day. Right now I currently wish that I could upload packages to the server from iTAK. One bug I noticed is that even if I’ve read a message through the chat tool, the notification still shows until I go to notifications to read it. It would be
I really like the concept and overall it’s pretty well done. One issue I have is when creating a point of interest I am unable to rename it from the default. I can change the coordinates, add comments, and add a photo but the window will not allow me to scroll up to access the name. Quite frustrating as this seems like a minor coding issue but it makes it difficult to determine what a point represents without clicking on it.
Not as good as ATAK. You can’t copy paste grids you mark at all, and the icons remain inconsistent with the ATAK version. No ability to configure icon sizes either so you have a ton of huge icons. Team markers also don’t display their name unless you zoom in really close. Fine if you have to use it on your iPhone
So far I’m unable to pull up contacts and I don’t see where I can add others to my team. Am I missing something?
The latest update causes and issue when connected to a server and trying to download video urls from the server, duplicate servers show up in the select a sever window and when you select the server available video streams that are on the server and working on atak will now load.
I’d like a detailed review on how to add people in a group cause I’m finding it hard to do so
I’ve been using this app for the better part of about 6 months now and from my experience it has provided me with anything I’ve needed it for A little background about me I’ve been involved with Search & Rescue going on 7 Years through FEMA, Civil Air Patrol, and the Lone Star S&R Response Team. I’ve been an MRO (Mission Radio Operator) and Ground Crew RTO (Radio Telephone Operator) these are the situations I’ve had use with the App for. With that being said there is always room for improvemen
It’s cool to have something like the ATAK on iPhone, but it’s still in development for some needed things. One of the main things is that it runs in Apple Maps, but Apple Maps is severely out dated and the area has changed. It would be nice to run on google maps or something more updated
We really need a windows version of tak server asap.
The apps works and runs as it should, but I wish that the Meshtastic plugin was preloaded into it.

If you’re wanting “aTak” for your iphone this will leave you wanting more. Can’t even do a simple polar plot. And why does iTak have to have a look and feel that is nothing like aTak. A little hint of commonality would be appreciated.
Why can’t it be more like the ATAK version utilized on Android devices. If it was the same but on iPhone, I would pay for it.
I don’t know what exactly I was expecting, but the satellite shots over my house indicate that the shots are 4+ years old viewing the set up in my landscape. With this information in mind, the app seems hardly worth while.
Love the idea of this app but I cannot figure out how to upload use or make offline maps. I tried downloading a bunch of different map files that didn’t work. Saw on these reviews you need a mbmaptile format and found a file I could use. But it says the file is too large. Some guy on YouTube figured it out but never explained how. Just shows him using the uploaded maps.
